Section 1 Our understanding of your needs
4 Objective and scope of work Our Understanding of Your Needs What you need To understand the applicability of RPA in your organization To assess the benefits brought by an RPA implementation vs. manual process handling Process assessment Robot Development Robot testing (and) deployment What we deliver Detailed process steps understanding, in order to evaluate the automation potential and to identify the business and technical exceptions. Development of RPA workflows that automates the process activities agreed to be included in the project scope. Support in the User Acceptance Testing and deployment of the RPA workflows into a production environment. How we deliver Run an RPA Pilot by following our EY proven methodology. Bring the right blend of delivery and technical expertise to deliver a successful RPA initiative. Postimplementation support 2 weeks warranty period for solving the business and technical exceptions which were not captured during the process assessment and UAT phases.
Section 2 Brief introduction to Robotic Process Automation
6 Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is an innovative solution for the automatic handling of business processes with high volume and repetitive in nature What is RPA? Robots RPA simulates a human user The software robot has access to diverse applications with an ID or a password, through the IT systems GUI. The robot can gather information or change data. Consequently, business and administrative processes can be to a largest extent fully automated. RPA is integrated in the existing IT infrastructure As a renewal of the existing IT landscape is not required, a high level of automation can be reached without major effort. RPA uses established control mechanisms and can communicate with all systems. Therefore, no interface has to be created. deliver repetitive, deterministic, highvolume tasks efficiently, quickly, and consistently. People build relationships, provide subjective judgement, deliver low-frequency tasks, and manage change and improvement. RPA is a software RPA is a computer software that runs repetitive, rule-based processes. The software is trained based on functional specifications and can be adjusted at any time.
7 Robotic Process Automation (RPA) can bring significant benefits to your organization Low Risk Non-invasive technology RPA can be overlaid on existing systems, allowing creation of a platform compatible with ongoing developments in sophisticated algorithms and machine-learning tools. Accuracy The right result, decision or calculation the first time Audit trail Fully maintained logs essential for compliance Consistency Identical processes and tasks, eliminating output variations Productivity Freed up human resources for higher value-added tasks Saving potentials 20 35% Effectiveness RPA provides flexibility and connectivity between exiting applications. Right shoring Geographical independence without business case impact Scalability Instant ramp up and down to match demand peaks and troughs Reliability No sick days, services are provided 365 days a year Retention Shifts towards more stimulating tasks Duration RPA projects run 1 to12 months with a return of investment below 1 year.
Section 3 Project activities and deliverables
EY s five step approach to deploy RPA solution to one 9 process Discover and prioritize the process in scope Define and document the selected AP process with automation experts Automate the selected AP process by EY RPA team Deploy Robot for one selected AP process Manage & control your robot workforce Identify automation candidates Define business and technical requirements Robot development Test and deploy Define Delivery and Governance Models Organize workshops with main business stakeholders to identify pain points and to assess multiple business areas for high level automation potential Validate the identified processes with the highest automation potential which are mapped and structured based on required resources such as manual effort, applications, user interaction etc. Perform the detailed assessment of the selected processes to validate the automation potential and to better estimate the automation effort, to be used in building the business case Define the RPA implementation roadmap and agree on the next steps Define and validate the business requirements (user stories) based on UniCredit Bank SMEs input, including business and technical exceptions for Data import for creation of a new client / mobile banking account process Isolate the areas with low potential for process automation Prioritize the user stories on development sprints Identify and validate the exception handling approach Setup the RPA technical infrastructure Agree on the business case structure and metrics to be used for identifying the RPA pilot Develop the RPA workflows based on the user stories defined, validated and prioritized with you using an Agile methodology Run iterative testing of the user stories finalized in each development sprint, including interfaces with legacy systems, exception handling routines and robotics queue management procedures, if applicable Coordinate ongoing scrum activities including sprint planning / review sessions, daily stand ups and issues tracking Validate UAT scenarios, prepare the test cases and run the testing activities Obtain the Business acceptance Deploy the RPA workflows into production Develop the business case and extrapolate the results to the additional process candidates for the RPA implementation (if any) Provide 2 week post-implementation support to assist in in solving potential new exceptions Document the business case for the implemented pilot Adjust the target operating model and governance framework to fit the shift in delivery model: a computer system replicates the actions and judgments of the employees and takes over repetitive tasks and processes Organize software robotics training sessions for project team Setup the robotics team (internal, external or mixed resources) to monitor and maintain the automated process For deliverables please refer to the next slide
10 Key deliverables for Pilot initiative Discover and prioritize the process in scope Define and document the selected AP process with automation experts Automate the selected AP process by EY RPA team Deploy Robot for one selected AP process Manage & control your robot workforce High level assessment of the in scope business areas, based on predefined automation metrics Detailed assessment of the processes identified in the high-level assessment with a significant automation potential RPA implementation roadmap Detailed process map for the selected process List of user stories (business requirements) to be considered for automation in the current project, including business and technical exceptions IT environments setup (development, testing and production environments) RPA workflows developed in UiPath, emulating the users activates, as per the user stories defined by the Bank Automated process operating in a testing environment Status meeting reports UAT scenarios to be used in the testing activities Test cases prepared by the Bank Business Acceptance received from the Bank Project Sponsor Automated process operating in a production environment Business case corresponding to the Pilot process RPA Target operating model RPA Governance Model Training customized for multiple roles defined as part of the TOM, delivered by EY resources Initial skills transfer from development team to client resource Issue log for the 2 week postimplementation support period
