Check-Out Date and Time Spring 2016 Check-Out Resource Guide Friday, May 20 by 10 p.m. Any resident who is not living in Housing and Residence Life for the summer or has not been granted an extension due to participation in Commencement must vacate their housing assignment by 10 p.m. on Friday, May 20. Standard Check-Out Procedure All residents are required to schedule a check-out time with their Resident Advisor. Check-out appointments will be available beginning Monday, May 16 through Friday, May 20 at 10 p.m. All of your belongings must be removed from your room prior to check-out and the common space (apartments only) should be cleaned. During the check-out process you will complete a Room Condition Report, Mail Forwarding Request and turn in all of your keys. You will be emailed a copy of the RCR as proof of your check-out process. If you intend to check-out before May 16, contact your Resident Advisor to schedule a check-out appointment. Residents are encouraged to leave within 24 hours of their last final. Housing tip: Do not remove or throw away the small black trashcan and/or toilet plunger found in your living space you will be charged if these items are missing upon check-out. Any items left in your space after you have completed your check-out appointment will be deemed abandoned and a fee will be assessed for improper check-out. Overnight Check-Out Procedure If you intend to check-out between the hours of 10 p.m. and 8 a.m., Monday, May 16 Friday, May 20 at 8 a.m. you will need to notify your Resident Advisor that you would like to complete an overnight check-out. Your RA will provide the necessary forms to complete this process. Should you choose to complete an overnight check-out, you waive your right to complete the Room Condition Report and appeal any fees charged for damage to your living space.

Request for Late Check-Out If you are a graduating senior or an official participant in commencement, you may request to stay in your room until Sunday, May 22, 2016. A check-out time will be communicated to you upon approval of your request. The Late Check-Out Request form can be found by visiting: http://www.fullerton.edu/housing/resources/latecheckoutrequestform.php Improper Check-Out A minimum fee of $120 will be assessed for an Improper Check-out subject to additional charges for cleaning and damage to the living space. Cleaning and Moving Supplies A limited number of large bins and vacuums will be available for check-out with a photo ID (other than your TitanCard) Monday, May 16 Sunday, May 20. Monday, May 16 Friday, May 20 o Available for check-out from the large tent in the Piazza from 8 a.m. - 10 p.m. Saturday, May 21 Sunday, May 22 o Available for check-out from the large tent in the Piazza from 3 p.m. - 6 p.m. Mail Forwarding All residents should update the mailing address in their Student Portal with their forwarding address this is in addition to completing the Mail Forwarding Request at the time of completing the Room Condition Report with their Resident Advisor. International students can complete this process by visiting: http://www.fullerton.edu/international/forms/forms/addressupdate.aspx. Mail forwarding services will be provided for 4 weeks after move-out. Goodwill Donation Bins Goodwill donation bins will be available for residents Monday, May 16 Sunday, May 22. Donate unwanted clothing, housewares, e-waste etc. and help create jobs in Orange County. Bins will be located on the first floor of each Residence Hall and Single Apartment Building in addition to the Cypress MPR. Please do not remove items from the donation bins as this is considered theft.

MicroFridge Return Any resident who has rented a MicroFridge is instructed to leave the unit in their assigned room. All units will be picked up the week of May 23 residents do not need to be present for pick-up. To avoid a $30 cleaning fee, units must be: 1. LEFT INSIDE YOUR ROOM: If you have moved or transferred the fridge to another room, please notify Collegiate Concepts. If the MicroFridge cannot be found, you will be billed for a replacement unit. 2. FULLY DEFROSTED: Unplug the unit the NIGHT BEFORE. DO NOT USE any sharp objects to defrost the unit. Tip the unit back to collect water so as to not spill on to the carpet. 3. COMPLETELY CLEAN and DRY: This includes seals and inside/outside surfaces of the refrigerator, freezer and microwave. THERE WILL BE A $30 CHARGE ASSESSED BY COLLEGIATE CONCEPTS IF NOT CLEANED. 4. RETURN WITH ALL PARTS: Ice cube trays and ice scraper, top shelf and bottom shelf, microwave plate and ring. There will be additional charges for MISSING PARTS. 5. PLEASE LEAVE REFRIGERATOR AND FREEZER DOORS OPEN. TimeWarner Cable Boxes All residents who have contracted with TimeWarner Cable need to make arrangements to return their cable boxes directly to TimeWarner Cable boxes should not be left inside your residence hall room or apartment living room. Housing and Residence Life is not responsible for the return of cable boxes. Housing tip: You will not have access to your room once you have checked out. It is your responsibility to ensure your cable box is returned or taken with you prior to check-out. Dumpster Locations If you have waste that needs to be disposed of that is not eligible for donation to Goodwill, additional trash receptacles will be located throughout the Housing community from Monday, May 16 Sunday, May 22. J Lot, Turn Around Cypress RH Lot, In between Holly and Fig Loading Zones Loading zones will be available Wednesday, May 18 Friday, May 20 in the Residence Hall parking lot and the first floor of the Residence Hall Parking Structure. Each loading zone space is available for 1 HOUR and will be enforced 24 hours a day through Friday, May 20.

Parking All resident permits will be valid in Lot E with no restrictions Sunday, May 15 Friday, May 20. Check-Out To-Do List Complete all items on this list prior to your departure from campus. During your check-out appointment, the Resident Advisor will document the condition of your living space with you present using a Room Condition Report form. Failure to complete all the tasks on this list may result in an improper check-out fee of $120 in addition to charges for damaged, missing or abandoned items. Residence Halls Check-Out Checklist Schedule a check-out appointment with your Resident Advisor a minimum of 24 hours in advance Discuss cleaning tasks with your roommate(s), especially if you are checking out at different times. Refer to cleaning agreement. Empty and thoroughly clean your entire MicroFridge unit for pick-up (if applicable) Completely empty your closet and drawers Remove all personal belongings from your room Donate unwanted clothing, housewares, e- waste to Goodwill Throw away all trash in the dumpsters located throughout the housing community. Do not place trash in bathrooms or common areas. Clear out your mailbox Return cable box to TimeWarner Cable (if applicable) Close and lock windows Raise the miniblinds (except the first floor) Vacuum your room Be ready and present for your check-out appointment with your Resident Advisor Return all keys to the staff member checking you out Sign your Room Condition Report and Key Form Apply for 2016-2017 Housing OR if you have begun the process be sure to select your room and roommate for next year! Empty and thoroughly clean the dishwasher, microwave, sink/garbage disposal, and stove/oven Empty and thoroughly clean entire bathroom Sweep, mop and vacuum all floors Completely empty the closets and all kitchen and bathroom drawers and cabinets Remove all personal belongings from the apartment Donate unwanted clothing, housewares, e- waste to Goodwill Throw away all trash from the apartment in the dumpsters located throughout the housing community. Make sure the small black trash can and toilet plunger are not thrown away.
