Qualification Overview The aim of this qualification is to recognise the knowledge, skills and competence demonstrated by an individual in the workplace. This Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Maintenance Operations provides the opportunity for individuals who are working as a multi-skilled operative, within three of the following disciplines: Carpentry and Joinery; Painting and Decorating; Plumbing; Drainage; Wall and Floor Tiling; Plastering; Roofing or Trowel Occupations such as Bricklaying or Stonemasonry to demonstrate their competence. The units in this qualification are derived from National Occupational Standards Rules of Combination (ROC) Requirements The L2 NVQ Diploma in Maintenance Operations requires you to select and achieve units across the 9 optional groups which are available. You can select units across these groups, based on an overall rule which ensures you meet the minimum credit value for the qualification. To achieve this qualification a minimum of 82 credits need to be attained by completing all 4 mandatory units, 1 optional unit, plus units from at least 3 of the optional unit groups A to H. Comply with information and/or instructions derived from risk 1.2 assessments and method statement. State the organisational procedures developed to report and 1.3 rectify inappropriate information and unsuitable resources and how they are implemented. Describe different types of information, their source and how they are interpreted in relation to: 1.4 - drawings, specifications, schedules, manufacturers' information and regulations governing buildings. Describe their responsibilities under current legislation and official guidance whilst working: - in the workplace, below ground level, at height, with tools 2.1 and equipment, with materials and substances, with movement/storage of materials and by manual handling and mechanical lifting. This unit is based on the National Occupational Standard 'Apply Finishing Plaster to Background Surfaces' (VR 65) This unit must be assessed in a w ork environment and in accordance w ith: - the Additional Requirements for Qualifications using the title NVQ in QCF - the ' Consolidated Assessment Strategy for Construction and the Built Environment - Craft, Supervisory, Technical, Managerial and Professional Units and Qualifications w ith NVQ in the Qualification and Credit Framew ork (QCF) title and SVQs. Assessors for this unit must use a combination of the follow ing assessment methods: - observation of normal w ork activities w ithin the w orkplace that clearly confirms the required skills - questioning the learner on know ledge criteria that clearly confirms the required understanding - review other forms of evidence that can clearly confirm industry required skills, know ledge and understanding.
