Dear Candidate, I am delighted that you are interested in the role of Catering Assistant at Leeds University Union. LUU is an incredibly dynamic and stimulating environment to be part of, and our Bars and Venues are busy, vibrant areas to work in. You will need to be an excellent communicator, team player and have a keen interest in learning new skills. Most importantly you need no experience in catering to apply for this role as we will teach you all the skills you need. The role is ideal for someone who wants to get involved in the union, have a flexible job that allows you to have freedom to go home during the university holidays and help to create a fun and exciting venue for students to make lasting memories. Please read all the information attached and if you feel you could contribute to our continuing success please apply. Good luck! Here s what a few of our colleagues have said about working at LUU: Working at LUU has been one of the highlights of my university experience. I have made so many lifelong friends and had so much fun. Although working fruity can be challenging, it is also outrageously enjoyable and has given me the opportunity to develop so many invaluable skills such as conflict management, customer service etc. The management team (I'm looking at you Jo Lowe) are so supportive and encouraging even when morale is low (it can be hard to stay positive when you're covered in bin juice at 5 in the morning) and always strive to make our time at LUU positive. I can't stress enough how much I value the friendships I have made in the past two years working in venues and I actually dread leaving and having to work elsewhere. I can't imagine university without it. Working at LUU has definitely added so much more to my university experience. You're never bored, you meet some amazing people and its tons of fun, plus LUU are great to work for! Salad Box is one of the best places to work due to its reasonable working hours and great staff. The job itself is very fast paced and on its feet which makes the shifts go very quickly. I enjoy this job, particularly because it involves lots of team work and communication, which motivates me and makes the shifts enjoyable. Overall the outlet itself has a very friendly atmosphere.
