To maintain a positive relationship with Aged Care Homes and Home Care Package providers and ensure matches between volunteers and care recipients enhance the life of the recipient. The Community Visitor Scheme (CVS) is auspiced by Multiple Sclerosis Limited (MSL) and funded by the Australian Government. The aim of the CVS is to enhance the quality of life for older people living in Aged Care Homes and in their own residence receiving a Home Care Package. The objective of the CVS is to recruit volunteers who are matched to residents and make regular, at least fortnightly, visits either on a one-to-one basis or in some areas visiting a group of residents. The development of the friendship provides an opportunity for the residents to feel a continued sense of belonging with their local community The Program Coordinator, Community Visitors Scheme is responsible for: - Effectively and efficiently coordinating the Community Visitors Scheme Program across specified area, in accordance with the business plan, the Department of Social Services guidelines and organisational policies and procedures - Volunteer coordination including recruitment, training, recognition and ongoing support. In conjunction with your Manager, and in consultation with relevant stakeholders, review and evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the CVS program within the designated region, identify opportunities for improvement (or new initiatives), and implement agreed follow up actions to ensure the program continues to meet the needs of stakeholders. Key Result Area 2 Relationship Management Key Tasks: Initiate and maintain regular contact with the Aged Care Homes contact person(s) and residents to determine the appropriateness and quality of the match. Undertake an annual review with the Aged Care Homes contact person regarding satisfaction with the CVS Promote, raise awareness and educate internal and external stakeholders on all aspects of the program to increase awareness, participation and encourage recruitment of new volunteers Develop and actively maintain effective and mutually beneficial partnerships, networks and relationships in order to support the work of MSL and the CVS program. Work as a collaborative and supportive team member. Job holder is successful when: A high level of rapport and strong relationships are established with ACH, Home Care Package providers and all other key stakeholders MS CVS is well known within region covered. Key Result Area 3 Administration Key Tasks: Coordinate volunteers following National Best Practise standards and MSL and CVS policies and processes, including on-boarding volunteers, on-going support, training and recognition, ensuring funded number of matches per region is maintained and residents are matched appropriately with community visitors to the satisfaction of both parties. Job holder is successful when: Volunteers are recruited in a timely manner Volunteer satisfaction and retention is high Volunteer recognition is accurate and awarded as appropriate. Ensure that accurate data, information and statistics are collected and maintained, including maintaining all aspects of the CVS database. Selection Criteria Essential: Good understanding of the Aged Care sector Experience in coordinating a volunteer program and managing all aspects of volunteer involvement Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously as well as in a team. Organisational, planning and time management skills. Attention to detail. Proven ability to take initiative and identify continuous improvement opportunities Ability to network and develop effective working relationships Demonstrated ability to achieve results through strong influence and consultative skills.
