1. The French IdM Scheme A centralized portal (Mon Service Public) may give access to all services provided by public sectors. Need shared authentication Need SSO based on federated identity Main constraints Respect for Privacy Free choice of how to identify oneself CNIL (National Commission for Data Protection) and French law considerations User control of personal data Open specifications and infrastructure (impact on all public services)

1. The packaged service A personalized service Mon service-public". It will enable every citizen to set up his or her own home page and access all the online public services of concern to him or her. "Mon service-public" will incorporate the services developed by the public sectors (taxes account, family benefits, change of address, etc ). A "personal space" (briefcase / e-safe) can be used for storage of personal data and dematerialized official documents (diplomas, civil register certificates, etc ) which the user can obtain from the civil service and submit to the authorities to complete other procedures.
2. What is e-id interoperability? Electronic IDentification mean (e-id) As a mean for people to prove electronically that they are who they say they are. The e-id interoperability concept All European citizens, businesses and administrations shall benefit from secure means of electronic identification (eid) that maximise user convenience while respecting data protection regulations. 4. Complementary issues to address How can an e-service deal with a citizen having several smart cards with certificates of different trust levels? How can an e-service deal with a citizen having e-ids of different technologies? How can an e-service get access to user personal datas stored by another Member State? Is the identifier of an e-id going to become a unique identifier across Europe?
