PRECISION FARMING PLATFORM Precision Farming is a key component of the 3rd wave of modern agriculture: 1st revolution: mechanization (1900-1930) Each farmer produced enough food to feed about 26 people during this time 3rd wave: Precision agriculture, data revolution Each farmer is expected by 2050 to be able to feed 265 people on the same acreage. 2 nd wave (green revolution): Expanded use of fertilizers and chemicals, higher-yield hybrids and new methods of genetic modification (1970-2000) Each farmer feeding about 155 people (90 s) SGS launched precision farming services in 2008 Services being provided via digital platforms since 2016 incorporating data from sensors/iot, remote sensing field/lab operations, third-parties and customers. 16
