Pneumatic conveying Pneumatic conveying is a means of conveying dry powders and other solids in an enclosed system using air pressure as the means of conveyance. Dense phase conveying Two variations of pneumatic conveying are dilute phase and dense phase conveying. Dilute phase conveying is characterized by a high volume of air, lower air pressure and low volume of solids per unit air volume while dense phase is characterized by lower air volumes and higher pressures and high volumes of solids per unit air volume. Dense phase conveying takes place at relatively lower velocities and higher mass load ratios compared to the dilute phase. Application Dense phase conveying will typically be chosen for: abrasive and sensitive products powders and pellets higher capacities long distance conveying (overpressure dense phase) Vacuum dense phase Vacuum dense phase systems are particularly suitable for systems, which convey materials at high capacities over short to medium distances (up to 100 m), from multiple sources to a single destination. Using vacuum pumps, moving plugs of material are formed and conveyed at subatmospheric pressures. We can make a distinction between vacuum dense phase and overpressure dense phase. + 32 3 660 51 11 + 32 3 660 51 10 www.j-tec.com Advantages avoidance of product damage avoidance of segregation of mixtures reduction of the wear of the complete systems when conveying abrasive products Higher conveying capacities due to typically high mass loading
Dense phase conveying Overpressure dense phase In an overpressure dense phase system the working pressure of the conveying air is 2 bar or higher. The conveying air will either be delivered by a compressor or supplied by the distribution pressure network at approximately 6 bar. Depending on the technique and the components used, we distinguish the following variaties of overpressure dense phase pneumatic conveying Options Tandem pressure vessels: For continuous feeding of the reception vessel and much higher capacities, a continuous conveying system will be selected by means of a pressure vessel. In this case the two vessels alternatingly send product into the conveying system. A Continuous dense phase overpressure conveying with rotary valve B Discontinuous overpressure conveying with 1 (or 2) pressure vessel(s) In both continuous and discontinuous conveying systems we distnguish: Pneumatic conveying over 1000km test at KTN 1 Unit for compressed air supply 2 Air regulating unit 3 Product feed into conveying tube by rotary valve or by pressure vessel 4 Conveying into reception vessel A 4 LS+ 1 2 3 PT Dense phase continuous conveying with rotary valve B 4 LS+ 1 2 3 + 32 3 660 51 11 + 32 3 660 51 10 Discontinuous dense phase conveying with pressure vessel

However, it is thanks to the initiative, enthusiasm and skills of our people that we are able to offer a better, more efficient and cost-effective total concept to our customers. Dilute phase versus dense phase Among the various types of pneumatic conveying we distinguish the dense phase from the dilute phase based on different characteristics. Dense phase conveying runs at relatively lower velocities and higher mass load ratios compared to the dilute phase. The working pressure of the conveying air will be 2 bar or even higher. Therefore the conveying air will be delivered by a compressor or supplied by the distribution pressure network over the plant at approximately 6 bar. Application of dilute phase conveying A dilute phase conveying will be chosen in typical cases such as: Distances up to 100 m (vacuum) - 200 m (overpressure) Limited capacities No special requirements towards product degradation No special requirements towards dust formation and segregation Structure of dilute phase conveying Depending on the technique and the components used, we can distinguish between two types of dilute phase pneumatic conveying: A. Continuous dilute phase conveying B. Discontinuous dilute phase conveying In both continuous and discontinuous conveying systems we distinguish overpressure and underpressure. + 32 3 660 51 11 + 32 3 660 51 10 In underpressure continuous In overpressure discontinuous

Elevator Vertical screw conveyor This screw conveyor is specifically designed for transporting powders and pellets in vertical direction. No more dangerous and difficult carrying of bags onto ladders and platforms. Screw conveyor This screw conveyor is custom-made to meet your demands, but it is built with standard components. The end result will meet your requirements. The food industry and fine chemicals branch have high demands regarding hygiene for conveying systems. To meet these demands screw conveyors have to be easy to clean. To this effect, the screw conveyor can be equipped with hinges and fasteners, making it possible to completely remove the cover. Obviously, we have to keep safety in mind. Therefore the covers are equipped with safety switches, compliant with safety norms. The screw is completely welded on two sides by a welding robot. This guarantees uniform welding, meeting high quality demands. The vertical screw conveyor transports material dust-tight to the right place. You decide the height of the conveyor and the desired content of the shoot. Tailor-made at your request. + 32 3 660 51 11 + 32 3 660 51 10 www.j-tec.com Safety, quick dismantling for cleaning and other features are accounted for. In many business industries such as food and chemistry, pharmaceutical and plastic industry, this vertical screw conveyor offers the perfect solution. Vibrating tray

High pressure air supply unit For high pressure transports with air lock, J-Tec has developed a special air regulating unit, which can be used for the compressed air net as well as for a screw compressor. This air regulating unit consists of a completely adjustable air valve combined with a flowmeter. For extremely low conveying velocities these transports can be combined with side injection (bypass).
