ADDENDUM TO RECOGNITION APPLICATION APTA SUSTAINABILITY COMMITMENT SIGNATORY ORGANIZATION: Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority KEY CONTACT NAME AND CONTACT DETAILS: Marion Coker, mcoker@septa.org, 25.580.865 SUBMISSION DATE: March 7, 202 LEVEL APPLIED FOR: Gold AGREE TO SHARE THE INFORMATION IN THIS APPLICATION, ONCE APPROVED, WITH OTHER SIGNATORIES TO FOSTER PEER LEARNING: Yes I. ACHIEVEMENT OF CORE PRINCIPLES OF THE COMMITMENT Please describe how your organization has achieved each core principle and when. Add supporting documentation where relevant.. Making sustainability a part of our strategic objectives SEPTA s Five Strategic Business Plan, entitled: Partnering for Regional Sustainability elevated sustainability to the forefront of the organizational agenda. As one of seven corporate objectives, SEPTA subsequently developed a comprehensive Sustainability Program Plan as a fully integrated component of the Strategic Business Plan. The Sustainability Program Plan was formally adopted by the SEPTA Board in January 20. Strategic Business Plan: http://www.septa.org/reports/pdf/strategic.pdf Sustainability Program Plan: http://www.septa.org/sustain/resources.html 2. Identifying a sustainability champion within the organization coupled with the proper human and/or financial resources and mandates SEPTA s Department of Strategic Planning & Analysis, within the organization s corporate Finance & Planning Division, has been designed the responsible party for stewardship of the Sustainability Program. The Department includes a Director of Strategic Planning, a Manager of Strategic Business Planning & Sustainability, and a full time dedicated Sustainability Planner. The department also has the support of an actively engaged Sustainability Working Group, a cross departmental and cross functional committee of mid and senior level management.

. Establishing an outreach program (awareness raising and education) on sustainability for all of our staff SEPTA has developed Sustainability webpage (www.septa.org/sustain) with a direct link from the SEPTA homepage. The Department of Strategic Planning & Analysis has full content control over the webpage, which is used to disseminate general information about the program and more specific information about project based initiatives. Of note is a Journal feature, which is used to highlight key programmatic milestones. Complementing the public webpage is an Environmental & Sustainability Management System link on the SEPTA intranet portal. This link houses policies, plan documents, facility performance indicator reports, and other resources, such as the SEPTA Recycling Guide. This portal will be used for employee education and program awareness, including the implementation of SEPTA s more formal ISO 400 based Environmental & Sustainability Management System.
