management and conservation of the biological diversity and natural resources is nesassry for the future survival of human beings. Purpose of the celebrating to create awareness about (what is National park, what is wildlife, Protection of Wildlife, importance of wildlife in ecosystem, how we can save our wildlife, Biological Diversity and our future, Common leopard as an endangered specie) among the students, wildlife department forest department people and the local community around the areas. Meetings were arranged with wildlife department, forest department and principals of schools and colleges in the vicinity of area. They were briefed about the program, all show positive response and active participation. They also appreciated the team working for the conservation of endangered wildlife and shared valuable suggestion. Teachers can foster conservation ethnics in minds of young as well as elder generation and can SAVE ENVIRMENT FOR HEALTHY LIFE SAVE NATURAL RESOURECES AND BIODIVERSITY FOR PROSPEROUS LIVELIHOODS shape their attitudes and behaviours towards conservation of biological diversity friendly activities. They can act as a frontline force towards conservation problems provided; they are aware and their capacities are built. For the awareness among the students, speech competition was arranged; all the schools were invited for the participation. Monitoring judges, Prof, Usman Ali and Tahir Iqbal nominated the winner student of the speech compaction and awarded with prize. Muhammad Ziarat (Community Watcher) introduced the importance of Pir Lasora national park, according to the community watcher north side of the park supports reasonable population of Cheer Pheasant, Kaleej Pheasant. They also described the existence of Barking Deer and common leopard in the area. The main threats to survival of these species were illegal hunting, and habitat degradation. There is also a lack of staff, single community watcher can not manage and monitor the wildlife threats and protection. There is need to increase staff. Muhammad Haroon (Forester) Forest department is also working for the conservation of resources of PL National Park. Our department will co-operate with the project team for the management of human leopard conflict. It is a positive step for the conservation of endangered species. Lack of awareness and forest fire is a big problem in area. We can control the forest fire at some extent by making stone wall and soil wall in the area, which resist the fire acrossing to the core zone of area. For this we require the cooperation of local community and wildlife department. Celebrations of the day mean, it is time to conserve our biodiversity. It aims to aware people with necessary knowledge, skills, commitment and motivation to work individually and collectively towards for the conservation of biological diversity Project team organize such program and also Progress Report (International Day for Biological Diversity and Awareness Program PLNP, Dist. training workshop for the staff it will be helpful for the conservation of natural resources. It is a first step, next we will organize program at high level, come forward for the protection of natural resources. Other participants and project team I was unaware about all these things; it is not only informative for me but also big awareness to now about our natural resources. All department and community should work together for the conservation of natural resources. Such program, Government should arrange at district level for the awareness. Active and informative participation of students and local community is a sign they want to protect their natural resources. It plays a part in regulating the chemistry of our atmosphere and water supply. Biodiversity is directly involved in water purification, recycling nutrients and providing fertile soils. Experiments with controlled environments have shown that humans cannot easily build ecosystems to support human needs. The stability of ecosystems is also related to biodiversity, with higher biodiversity producing greater stability over time, reducing the chance that ecosystem services will be disrupted as a result of disturbances such as extreme weather events or human exploitation. It was a health step for the awareness. Participation and active involvement of local community was a positive sign. By awareness project we can save endangered specie along with the natural resources of PLNP. At the end of the Program, Mr. Azam educates distributed certificates amongst the participants and shared his views with the participants. Finally concluded the session and thanked the participants for their active involvement in the program. Progress Report (International Day for Biological Diversity and Awareness Program PLNP, Dist.
