Job Description Job Title: Web Programmer/SharePoint Administrator Reports to: Director, Information Operations FLSA Status: Exempt Level: 214 Job Summary: The Web Programmer/SharePoint Administrator provides essential support to Information Technology Services' mission and customers by analyzing, designing, implementing and supporting internally developed, commercial, and open source applications and infrastructure. This is a professional level role that under general supervision, works closely with client departments to configure and maintain SharePoint site collections, document libraries, lists, and site pages. This position is responsible for the technical planning, development and maintenance of the College Web site(s) and related services while ensuring high standards of performance and user accessibility to the site. Responsible for website programming, usability analysis, testing deployment, SharePoint administration and prioritizing and developing content that is integrated with College goals and ongoing operations. Must possess a solid understanding of W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and ensure ADA compliance of website. Responsible for maintaining College Web site(s) and serves as the primary contact between the campus and ITS for technical support. 2. Coordinates technical implementation and support of Web site(s) and services with Communications and Marketing as well as all the other areas at the college. 3. Works with Communications and Marketing to develop guidelines and standards to ensure ADA compliance of the college website. 4. Works with client departments to configure and maintain SharePoint site collections, document libraries, lists, and site pages. In addition, performs SharePoint development, customization and integration efforts for enterprise solutions involving departmental collaboration sites, employee portals, enterprise search, forms workflow, and business intelligence reporting. 5. Develops and updates overall technical architecture working with Communications and Marketing, including stylesheets, templates, and forms for the Web using current software tools. 6. Creates clean code that adheres to security and web standards. 7. Utilizes SQL Developer to code, interpret and execute SQL reports & queries. 8. Promotes user adoption through user and site manager SharePoint training, consultation, and support of existing functionality. 9. Configures, maintains and optimizes operating system and web server software including Unix and Portal administration. 10. Works with network systems administration to maintain current full backup and mirror of SCF Web site for redundancy and disaster recovery purposes; maintains security patches and updates on all web applications, web server software and related database software. 11. Tracks and analyzes usage of Web site(s) and Web portal recommending necessary programming changes; manages transfer of files and memory allocation for Web site on the server; creates automatic system of data and content storage on Web site. 12. Uses design and development programs and software including but not limited to ASP, PHP, ColdFusion, Java/Groovy, SQL, C#, VB.NET including Windows Services, JavaScript, Omni Update, JQuery, CSS, XML, HTML, Photoshop, and WordPress. 13. Provides technical support functions of the College Web site s Content Management System. 14. Works with content owners to ensure the integrity of the information provided on all intranet and public facing web sites. 15. Performs other duties as assigned. Job Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education/Experience: Baccalaureate degree in Computer Science or related field from an accredited institution and five (5) years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and related work experience. At least two years of experience in SharePoint Online technical support and administration including site collection creation. Supervisory Experience: One to two years of supervisory experience, with responsibility for scheduling and assigning work, training new employees, and assisting others with problems, is required. Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic knowledge of the Office365 suite of products. Must become efficient with current college database software and other college required software within one month of hire. Strong knowledge of multiple languages and software used for Web development such as ASP, PHP, ColdFusion, Java/Groovy, SQL, C#, VB.NET including Windows Services, JavaScript, JQuery, CSS, XML, HTML, Photoshop, and WordPress or similar blog software; LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP). Work-place experience with Microsoft applications (e.g. Office365, SharePoint Online), Ellucian Banner, Argos, Portals, Dynamic Forms, CMS website controls. Working knowledge of database table structure and entity relationships. Strong experience using RDBMS (e.g. MySQL, Oracle) and a Version Control System (e.g. SVN, ). Have the ability to optimize images for the web. Mobile Application Development (Android & ios). Knowledge of Ellucian Mobile a plus. Certificates and Licenses: None required for position. Responsibility for People and Property: This position is responsible for the oversight of the College Web servers, numerous software programs and Content Management System. Responsibility for Communication: Internal Contacts: Regular contact with all levels of SCF administration, faculty and staff. External Contacts: Regular contact with CMS provider and vendors as necessary for custom Web applications and technical support.
