POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: Manager, College Assistance Migrant Program CATEGORY: Professional (CAMP) FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt GRADE: D JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the development, coordination, management and direct supervision of the College Assistant for Migrant Program (CAMP) project. Establish effective internal and external working partnerships and regular communication with all key stakeholders involved in the growth, success and compliance of the CAMP project. PROJECT DESCRIPTION EPCC College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP) project is designed to assist migrant families build educational and social achievements by assisting them with post-secondary educational opportunities. CAMP project will specifically serve migrant students who enroll full-time, are adults with families, have jobs, and other responsibilities. CAMP will be open to all eligible migrants and seasonal farm workers and their families. CAMP outreach workers will target participants who are economically and academically disadvantaged to include individuals in colonias and other rural areas, particularly those who are nontraditional students. CAMP project will work with internal EPCC departments and outside agencies to provide CAMP students wrap around services. The ultimate goal is for participants to have an opportunity to start their post-secondary education at EPCC, a two-year college, in a supportive and affordable environment, emphasizing degree attainment in order to transfer to a four-year institution or enter the workforce. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Responsible for the development, coordination, management and growth of the CAMP project; oversee all daily operations of this project, including outreach and recruitment; collaborate ion with internal departments and external agencies; provide support services for students and staff supervision; ensure compliance with grant requirements, College policies, and procedures. 2. Communicate with all levels of management at the College and external agencies involved with CAMP; identify academic support needs; plan and develop academic support requirements for student; manage their implementation, and evaluate their success; attend meetings. 3. Develop strategies to assist students in resolving issues which interfere with their academic success by providing internal and external referrals and support services such as counseling, administrative services, day care, and other appropriate services. 4. Participate in setting short and long term performance goals and priorities for the tutorial staff which contribute to grant s requirements and success; organize and coordinate daily operations to include supervision, performance evaluation, guidance, and support concerning professional development. 5. Responsible for monitoring and regulating expenses and resources; monitor, recommend, and approve expenditures. 6. Responsible for maintaining records of student usage through a department database; respond to various academic information requests and reporting requirements; monitor student attendance, behavior, and progress, solicit feedback from CAMP project participants. 5% 7. BUDGET RESPONSIBILITIES: Project Budget/Grant ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: Bachelor s Degree. EPERIENCE: Five (5) years related experience. CERTIFICATION/LICENSURES: Must have a valid driver s license and be insurable by the district s auto liability insurance carrier; must be able to travel to various work locations using own transportation.
