THE COMPANY Farrans Construction is a long established UK Building and Civil Engineering company operating in various sectors within the UK and wider Europe. A subsidiary of CRH plc, Farrans Construction have a turnover in excess of 250m with over 500 employees. The Role Reporting to the Procurement Director the job holder will be responsible for establishing new business under the frameworks by direct engagement with prospective clients. They will also be responsible for leading the Framework development strategy, regularly reviewing and reporting on future opportunities via new and current frameworks and briefing the pre-construction teams on the key drivers for the Client. They will be required to work with the Directors and Senior Managers and other members of the operational and pre-contract team in the generation and management of a sustainable pipeline of work, that will reflect the current and anticipated business strategy and regional business plans. This will be achieved through ongoing monitoring of the market, interpreting the data and following through with client engagement, key account management and engagement with key stakeholders and potential partner organisations with subsequent action plans to convert opportunities into tenders. The Framework Manager will actively promote Farrans participation on current frameworks to sustainably grow the Farrans business and brand in line with sector/geographical targets. This will be further supported by the gathering of customer feedback progressively throughout the whole business cycle. Key Responsibilities Management Actively manage our framework relationships, promoting the benefits to potential new clients through direct engagement with client organisations, professional bodies and consultants. Craft, develop and present a persuasive business case to clients promoting the capability of Team Farrans and implement actions that will position Farrans with differentiated advantage. Undertaking the role of Framework Manager to meet the specific individual needs of each framework agreement. Developing strategies that enhance the clients experience and fulfil our ambition to be the contractor of choice. Promote the Farrans brand and actively seek out and report on any prospective business leads. Ongoing market research and development of marketing intelligence to enhance the success rate of Farrans tenders and work secured under the frameworks. Contribute, innovate and add value to the overall Farrans business development approach. Strive for continuous improvement within Farrans based on detailed competitor analysis and feedback captured under our current framework arrangements. Be able to both take the lead on client relationships, and equally introduce clients to regional teams, ensuring a robust client relationships management strategy/delivery Enhance regional and operational business development capabilities and work with them to achieve their winning work targets. Develop strategic partnerships and attend business networking opportunities.

Identify client key decision makers and through engagement and collaboration with them improve the Farrans business development offering. Develop knowledge of specific client operations, culture and contractor preferences and use this knowledge to enhance our competitiveness. Develop accurate client profiles which take account of spending plans, patterns, strategies and expectations which can be used to improve submissions. Seek client feedback in respect of all submissions and operational interfaces to drive improvements Liaise effectively with the Communications team to ensure all promotional opportunities are fully realised. Effectively contribute to the review process of all business opportunities, securing engagement from all parties to develop win themes and plans and contributing to the SQ process. Abide by all business compliance requirements in line with Company policies. Pre-construction Support the Pre-construction Team providing subject matter expertise and assisting with tender/submission documentation. Contribute as required to all aspects of project/tender bid submissions. Projects Engage with the project teams to capture market intelligence and gain a detailed understanding of Farrans delivery approach / expertise. Resources Promote Farrans competency behaviours to influence best performance, including empowering staff to improve scope and capability. Recognise and encourage excellent performance. Ensure that poor performance is proactively managed via support, training or disciplinary action as appropriate. Review training needs and collaborate with Training and Development team in ensuring that appropriate and relevant training is provided. Develop strong team working relationships with the regional team and promote effective communication between projects and regional offices. Reflects company vision and strategic objectives, into defined clear team goals. Working conditions This role will be based at a location to be agreed, but will cover the England, Ireland and Wales region. The successful candidate will be expected to travel as part of their role to construction sites, Company fixed locations or other locations as requested by Management. Personnel Specification We are seeking an experienced and pragmatic professional to work with the Directors and senior staff to support the continuing growth of the business. This individual must be a proven leader with strong people skills to promote the Farrans business. Essential Qualifications Educated to degree level in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent qualification. Candidates without this level of education may be considered if they can demonstrate Desirable ICE, RICS or CIOB qualification Appropriate and Valid CSCS Card

suitable work experience as deemed appropriate by Management. Full Driving Licence Experience At least ten years experience working in construction and engineering within the UK with good career continuity. Senior level management experience and capability Suitable and sufficient experience in a business development environment with demonstrable capabilities which have led to the award of construction contracts. Strong business and commercial acumen and a proven track record of delivering results Proven experience of relationship building in a construction environment where client confidence in contractors is of paramount importance as well as a track record of contributing to successful bids.
