Our mission is to support you in improving all aspects of your brazing processes... time and time again.
Welcome Pietro Galliani Brazing S.p.A is a leading European producer of brazing products with now the widest range of products in Europe. We have a 100 year history in the metal working industry. Ing. Pietro Galliani started our company more than 100 years ago in Vergato, Italy. He was a pioneer in the metal working industry and this strong pioneering spirit is still with us today. Since 1995 we have been developing and producing high qualiy brazing products, while at the same time studying the processes of our customers. Our mission is to support you in improving all aspects of your brazing processes... time and time again. This short guide is intended to give you a brief overview of PGB product and solutions for your industry and to maybe provide you with new ideas or solutions for current future problems in the area of brazing. For more information and support please contact your local Pietro Galliani Brazing sales technician or send us an email at info@pietrogallianibrazing.com. We look forward to working with you. Copper to Copper Joining Standard copper to copper joining it most efficiently done without the use of flux. The group of alloys that enable this is the Copper Phosphorus based materials (CuP). Depending on the joint design, application and enviroment of operation varias quantities of silver are added (CuPAg). Many of the CuP and CuPAg alloys are normed. One big misconception is that all materials in the same norm have the same performance. Pietro Galliani Brazing provides normed products with excellent performance. Pietro Galliani Products are made in Italy!

Copper to Steel Joining Copper to steel brazing can be a difficult process if the wrong materials are used. For this joint a strong flux is required, as often overheating of the steel occurs. The thermal higher conductivity of Cu combinded with the normally thick mass of steel cause makes it easier to over heat the steel. Additionally, the thermal expansion of both materials are different, this means that thermal stresses will be present. These two known problems are solved with Ga lflo Silver Alloys. PGB silver alloys conform to Rohs standards and REACH registered. Copper to Brass Joining Copper to brass brazing is generally easier than copper to steel, but more difficult that copper to copper joints. A flux is still required to insure perfect flow and wetting of both materials. Silver containing alloys are best fit for this kind of brazing. This type of joint general requries higher mechanical strength. Many times the joint gaps are large and leaks can occure. For this reason Galflo 34Snsi is often the best solution.

Galflo Aluminium to Aluminium Joining Aluminium to Aluminium brazed with Galfux AlNc Paint and Galflo Al12 Alloy Brazing Al to Al can be very difficult and frustrating especially if your company is making the transition from copper brazing to aluminium brazing. Pietro Galliani Brazing S.p.A has developed several products to make aluminium joining easier. Problem 1:Aluminium melts at the relatively low temperature of 660C and does not change colour when heated. This leads to very fast melting of the aluminium when trying to braze. PGB Solution 1: Galffux ALnc is a not corrosive flux paste that works as a temperature indicator. How it works:: Galflux Alnc is designed to be liquid at 560C, this is just below the temperature of the market standard brazing alloys Galflo Al12, this alloys the brazer to see when he needs to apply the alloy and reduces the heat input. Aluminium to Aluminium brazed with Galfux AlNc Paste and Galflo Al12 Alloy Galflux Alcor For Joining AlMg alloys Aluminium to Copper brazed with Galfux ZNnc Paste and Galflo ZnAl2 Alloy Problem 2: In order to increase the strenght of Al alloys Mg is added. If the Mg content is too high normal noncorrosive fluxes no longer function correctly. PGB Solution 2: Galflux AlNcExtra is a non corrosive flux paste that can be used to braze AlMg alloys with up to 1,2% of Mg, above 1.2%Mg a corrosive flux must be used. We recommend Galflux AlcorExtra. Aluminium to Copper brazed with Galfux ZNnc paste and Galflo ZnAl22 Alloy Galflo Aluminium to Copper Joining Brazing Aluminium to Copper is often more difficult to join than aluminium to aluminium. Pietro Galliani Brazing S.p.A has developed several products to make aluminium to copper joining easier. Problem 3: Copper and Alumiumiun have different thermal conductivity which makes controlling the temperature of both materials difficult. This often leads to over heating of the copper and results in melting of the aluminium. PGB Solution 3: Galflux Znnc is a non corrosive flux paste that is active at 440C. When used with Galflo ZnAl2, or Galflo ZnAl15, a perfect CuAl joint can be achieved.
