CHPTER 1 BIM Project Execution Plan Template Preface Please delete this page prior to finalizing the document This template exists to document the decisions made by the project team in working through the BIM Execution Planning Process. Several other files have been provided to help teams work through this process. dditional Documents Worksheets: These are tools designed help the decision making process and record the result. These become attachments to the final document Instructions: Guidance for the overall process as well as step by step instructions for the worksheets. Examples: illustrative examples of worksheets and completed BIM Project Execution Plans Refer to the 1b_DIBPXP Supplemental Instructions for descriptions of each of these documents. Instructions Several forms of instruction exist to help teams through the Project Execution Planning process. Within this document as a template there are two styles of text: Text in Green is of the style ExampleTEXT. ny text of this style is just sample text and should be replaced by actual text per project. If modified, the format of the text should be changed to match the rest of the document. This can be completed, in most cases, by selecting the normal style in the template styles. lternatively CTRL-Shift-C will copy formatting from selected text and CTRL-Shift-V will paste the formatting onto existing text Denver International irport Page 4 of 27 DI BIM Project Execution Plan
INSTRUCTIONS: Text in Grey is part of the original template has been expanded in this document. ll text in this format should be deleted as the form is filled out per project. In addition to the in-line instructions, two separate documents with further instructions are provided. 1a_DI CIC_BIM Project Execution Planning Guide 1b_DIBPXP Supplemental Instructions: Refer to the 1b_DIBPXP Supplemental Instructions for descriptions of each of these documents. BIM Project Execution Plan Overview The goal of DI is to integrate BIM and take advantage of the information model created during design and construction to enhance and feed into existing and future facilities processes. To successfully implement Building Information Modeling (BIM) on a project, DI has developed this detailed BIM Project Execution Plan. The BIM Project Execution Plan defines uses for BIM on the project (e.g. design authoring, cost estimating, and design coordination), along with a detailed design of the process for executing BIM throughout the project lifecycle. dditionally, this plan is to provide all stakeholders with a delineation of roles and responsibilities detailing scope of information to be shared, relevant business processes and supporting software. Project Information This section defines basic project reference information and determined project milestones. Denver International irport Page 5 of 27 DI BIM Project Execution Plan

BIM Process Design Provide process maps for each BIM Use selected in section D: Project Goals/BIM Objectives. These process maps provide a detailed plan for execution of each BIM Use. They also define the specific Information Exchanges for each activity, building the foundation for the entire execution plan. The plan includes the Overview Map (Level 1) of the BIM Uses, a Detailed Map of each BIM Use (Level 2), and a description of elements on each map, as appropriate. Level 1 and 2 sample maps are available as part of the complete planning template structure in the Examples\Worksheets folder. (Please note that these are sample maps and should be modified based on project specific information and requirements). BIM and Facility Data Requirements The section should include DI BIM requirements. It is important that the owner s requirements for BIM be considered so that they can be incorporated into the project s BIM process. While the requirements for each project may differ, listed here are some examples: Denver International irport Page 14 of 27 DI BIM Project Execution Plan
