The pace of green growth between 2004 and 2007, global investments in renewable energy more than doubled. Barriers to Clean Energy in Alberta Unlevel playing field You can have the transmission Subsidies to competing technologies (CCS), transmission to existing interconnec+on and you coal mines, little recognition of environmental damage/benefits can have the turbines, but Lack of readily available long term power purchase you s+ll need to sell the contracts power. We need a power Merchant market pricing uncertainty makes financing purchase agreement in extremely challenging place and it needs to be a long term agreement.
