AGE LIMIT AND RELAXATION (a) Age limit and relaxation are as follows; 1. (i)assistant Aircraft Mechanic (ii)assistant Radio Mechanic 28 Years.(Relaxable for Govt Servant upto 40 years in accordance with instructions issued by the Central Govt. from time to time). a) Relaxable by 5 years in the case of a candidate belonging to the Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes, other special categories of personnel and three years for Other Backward Classes in accordance with the instructions or orders issued by the Central government from time to time. b) The relaxation in upper age limit of 05 years shall also be admissible to all candidates who had ordinarily been domiciled in the state of Jammu and Kashmir during the period from 01 Jan 1980 to 31 Dec 1989. Candidates from the state of Jammu and Kashmir claiming age relaxation should produce a certificate obtained from the District Magistrate within whose jurisdiction they had ordinarily resided or from authority designated on behalf of the Govt. of J & K. c) Five years of age relaxation in upper age limit shall also be granted to the children and dependent family members of those who were killed in the communal riots of the year 1984 and Gujarat riots of the year 2002. For getting this benefit, the children and dependent family member of those killed in the riots should produce a certificate to the effect from the concerned District Collectors SC/ST/OBC relaxation as per Govt. instruction will be in addition. Note-1: Candidates should note that the Date of Birth as recorded in the Matriculation/Secondary Examination Certificate or an equivalent certificate only will be accepted for determining the age eligibility and no subsequent request for its change will be considered or granted.

3. PHYSICAL STANDARD (a) Height- 165 Cms relaxable by 5 Cms for hill tribes and Adhivasis. (b) Chest- 76-80 Cms relaxable by 2 Cms for candidates below 20 years age. (c) Weight- corresponding to height. (d) Must qualify the physical efficiency test and written test. For female (a) Height shall not be less than 150 Cms. (b) There shall be no minimum requirement of chest. NOTE-: Relaxation in height and chest (as the case may be) as mentioned above will be permissible only on production of certificate in the Performa as prescribed by the District authorities where they ordinarily reside(s). 4. SELECTION PROCEDURE : (i) (ii) (iii) (iv) (v) (vi) Written Examination Documentation Physical measurement Physical Efficiency Test Interview Medical Examination. The selection test will be conducted in one stretch. (i) WRITTEN EXAMINATION The written examination will be conducted at the selection centres which will be communicated separately. There will be one composite paper for two hours duration for respective discipline and will be SUBJECTIVE TYPE.Those candidates declared pass in written examination will appear for documentation and physical measurement. NOTE :- Candidates are not permitted to use Mobile Phone, Calculator or any other electronic/electrical device for answering any paper(test Booklets). Candidates must not therefore, bring Mobile Phone, Calculator or any other electronic electrical device inside the Examination premises. Possession of these items, whether in use or not, will be considered as use of unfair means in the Examination and appropriate action will be taken by the department against such candidates, as per extant policy of the department. (ii) PHYSICAL EFFICIENCY TEST The candidates are required to qualify following events; (i) Standing Broad Jump - 4 Ft 6 inch (ii) Jump & Reach - 7 Feet (excluding 1 Ft reach) (iii) One Mile run - 12 Minutes (iv) Clear the ditch - 6 Feet For Female candidate (i) Standing Broad Jump - 3 Ft (ii) Jump & Reach - 6 Feet (excluding 1 Ft reach) (iii) One Mile run - 16 Minutes (iv) Clear the ditch - 4 Feet

Medical Examination Those who qualify in the Written Examination, Documentation, Physical Measurement, Physical Efficiency Test will appear in the Interview. The candidates qualifying in the Interview will be appear in the detailed Medical Examination to assess their fitness. If found Unfit in the Medical Examination, they can make an appeal against a possible error of judgment for a Review Medical Examination within the prescribed time limit of 15 days. Decision of Review Medical Board will be final and no appeal/representation against the decision of the Re-Medical Board/Review Medical Board will be entertained. 5. RESOLUTION OF TIE CASES Tie cases will be resolved as under by applying one after another, as applicable till the Tie is resolved :- i) Total marks in the written examination. ii) Date of Birth, with older candidate placed higher. iii) Alphabetical order in which the first names of the candidates appear. Medical standards (For male and Female):- a) Eye sight: Minimum distant vision should be 6/6 and 6/9 of both eyes without correction (i.e. without wearing of glasses). b) The candidates must not have knock knees, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes and they should possess high colour vision. They must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect/deformity likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties. 6. SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION a) Application duly filled up in the given format may be sent to THE DIG(Pers), HQ DG BSF, BLOCK -10 CGO COMPLEX, LODHI ROAD NEW DELHI-110003 within 30 days from the date of publication of advertisement in the employment news. b) Candidates can apply for the post any time after publication of the advertisement upto one year. c) Applications received within 30 days of the date of publication of the application will be considered in the first lot and DSC be held within the next one month. d) Applications received thereafter will be considered on a monthly basis in respect of the unfilled posts till one year in subsequent monthly DSCs or on requirement basis. e) For any queries and guidance, candidates may contact the Nodal Officer at Telephone No. 011-24362675. f) Recruitment process will be finally over after one year from the date of publication of the vacancies. g) Updation on filling up of the advertised posts will be available on the BSF Web sitewww.bsf.nic.in h) The application should be accompanied with attested copies of certificates for proof of age, education qualification, SC/ST/OBC and other tribe/hill areas (domicile), Technical Qualification/ Diploma wherever applicable, as well as a bank draft for Rs. 50/- as examination fee to be drawn in favour of DDO HQ DG BSF, payable at SBI Service Branch

However, SC/ST, departmental candidates, Women and Ex- Servicemen are not required to remit examination fee. i) Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances. j) Three recent passport size photographs duly attested by a Gazette officer should be attached to the application. One each photograph to be affixed on the application form and admit card and third one to be kept in record. Two self-addressed envelopes of size of 25 x12 cms with postal stamp worth Rs. 27/- each should also be attached with the application form. The envelope containing application must be super scribed in bold letters as APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF ASSISTANT AIRCRAFT MECHANIC/ASSISTANT RADIO MECHANIC IN BSF FOR BSF AIR WING. NOTE : The candidates applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfill all the eligibility conditions for admission to the examination. Their admission at all the stages of examination will be purely provisional, subject to their satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions. If, on verification, at any time before or after above examination, it is found that they do not fulfill any of the eligibility conditions, their candidature for the examination will be cancelled by the Department. 7. CONDITIONS OF SERVICE i) Selected candidates will be liable to serve anywhere within the Union of India or abroad. ii) iii) iv) Candidate will be governed by BSF Act and Rules and as amended from time to time. The NEW RESTRUCTURED DEFINED CONTRIBUTION PENSION SYSTEM applicable for the new entrants to the Central govt. service w.e.f. Jan 2004 will also be applicable. Selected candidates will have to undergo basic training and such other courses as prescribed in the Force from time to time. v) The posts are combatised and selected candidate will be governed under provision of BSF Act and Rule. 8. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS i) Applications, which are not on prescribed format or not accompanied by the required enclosures or incomplete or defective shall be summarily rejected. No representation or correspondence regarding such rejection shall be entertained under any circumstances. ii) iii) iv) Candidates already serving in Govt. /Semi Govt Departments should apply through proper channel and NOC obtained from the employer should also be enclosed. Candidates are not required to submit any original certificates in support to their claims. They should ensure they fulfill all the eligibility conditions for admission to the tests. If on verification at a later stage it is found that they do not fulfill any of the eligibility conditions, their candidature will be cancelled by the Selection Board. Before applying, candidates in their own interest are advised to go through the detailed instructions contained in this notice carefully. This notice and specimen of the application is also available on the BSF Web Site www.bsf.nic.in.

v) The application form (Annexure-A) must be filled by the candidate correctly and correction, if any should be legible and attested by the candidate. vi) The venue, date and time of written examination, physical efficiency tests and medical examination will be intimated to the candidate. vii) viii) ix) The recruitment board shall not be liable for any claim arising out of any injury etc. suffered during the tests. The decision of the recruitment board shall be final in all matters connected with this recruitment. An employee serving in the same rank and pay grade will not be entitled to apply for said post. On behalf of Govt. of India, selection committee reserves its right to reject or accept the candidature of any applicant at any stage. x) Candidates seeking reservation benefits for SC/ST/OBC must ensure that they are entitled to such reservation as per eligibility prescribed in the Notice. They should also be in possession of the certificates in the format prescribed by Government of India in support of their claim at the time of application. xi) xii) xiii) xiv) xv) xvi) xvii) Candidates belonging to the Physically Handicapped category are not eligible to apply for this examination. Central Government civilian employees claiming age relaxation should be in possession of a certificate in the prescribed format from their office, in respect of the length of continuous service which should be for not less than three years in the immediate period preceding the closing date for receipt of application. They should also continue to have the status of Central Government civilian employees till the time of appointment, in the event of their selection. Candidates must write the papers/indicate the answers in their own hand writing. In the question papers, wherever necessary, the Metric systems of weights and measures only will be used. Candidates are not permitted to use calculators and other electronic gadgets except as specified in the notice. They should not, therefore, bring the same inside the Examination Premises/Venue. Wherever applicable, the candidates must indicate/write the answer either in Hindi or in English or vice versa. If answers are indicated/written partly in Hindi and partly in English and vice versa, the answer script will not be evaluated and the candidate will be awarded zero marks. If any candidate is found to possess mobile phones or any other means of wireless communication position in the working or switched off mode in the examination hall, his/her candidature shall be cancelled forthwith.

9. CHECK LISTS Before sending application, the candidates must ensure following:- i) Application and Admit Card completely filled and duly signed. ii) iii) iv) Two latest identical passport size photographs (one each on application and admit card should be attested by a Gazette officer) Examination fee Rs. 50/- by BD/Postal order in case of General/OBC candidates. Attested Caste Certificate in case of SC/ST/OBC candidates.(as per proforma). v) Attested copy of Matriculation/School Leaving certificate or equivalent certificate as proof of age. vi) Diploma in the relevant trade and Experience certificate. vii) Two self-addressed envelopes stamped worth Rs. 27/- each. viii) Application and Admit card signed by the candidate. ix) Attested copy of NOC issued by the employer, in case the candidate is a Govt. employee, be attached. x) Age relaxation certificate candidate belonging J & K during the period from 01 Jan 1980 to 31 Dec 1989. xi) Age relaxation certificate children and dependent family members of those who were killed in the communal riots of the year 1984 at Punjab and 2002 at Gujarat riots.
