POST TITLE: EXAMINATION INVIGILATORS REF: 01776/17 LOCATION: HOURS: Derry-Londonderry/Limavady/Strabane/Northern Ireland Prison Service at Magilligan As and when required SALARY SCALE: Band 3-8.78-9.35 per hour The College is recruiting suitable applicants to join a panel of permanent Examination Invigilators that will be required on an as and when required basis to meet the needs of the College during Examination times. Job Description POST TITLE: RESPONSIBLE TO: REPORTING TO: LOCATION: Examination Invigilators Principal & Chief Executive Senior Administrative Officer through the Senior Administrator- Examinations Section The successful applicant may be required to work in any of the College s buildings, as necessary. The initial location will be Strand Road Campus. PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The overall purpose of the post will be to invigilate examinations offered by the North West Regional College. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Postholder will: 1 be familiar with examination regulations and ensure that awarding bodies regulations are adhered to during examinations; 2 check the identity of candidates entered for examinations; 3 inform students of relevant instructions, notices and procedures and ensure that candidates adhere to the regulations; 4 distribute examination papers and stationery; 5 mark examination attendance registers and note seating arrangements; 6 report instances of suspected malpractice according to examination regulations; 7 collect answer scripts and unused examination material and assemble materials for either posting or return to the examination personnel; 8 comply with and actively promote College policies and procedures on all aspects of equality; 9 ensure full compliance with Health and Safety requirements and legislation in accordance with College policies and procedures; 10 ensure full compliance with the College s quality assurance systems and procedures in accordance with College policies and procedures; 11 Undertake any other duties as required by the College s principal and Chief Executive or persons carrying his delegated authority. The list of duties is not exhaustive. The postholder will be expected to undertake other relevant duties in order to meet any changing operational requirements.

Job Description TERMS AND CONDITIONS Terms and conditions of employment are those as laid down by the Non-Teaching Negotiating Committee for Further Education in Northern Ireland and will include locally agreed terms and conditions. Salary Scale Band 3, Scale Column Point 14, 8.78 to Point 17 9.35 per hour. Hours of Work The hours of work will normally be on an as and when required basis. The hours of duty which may be on any of the College sites will be such as laid down to meet the needs of the College and may include periods of duty after, as well as before 5.00 pm on any Monday to Friday. Annual Leave Entitlement Entitlement to annual leave is 21 days, per annum, pro rata in a full holiday year in addition to 12 public and extra statutory holidays. Entitlement to leave in the first year of employment is pro-rata to the number of months completed. Pension Scheme There is an Occupational Pension Scheme relating to employment with the College. Further details will be provided on appointment. Other Employment No other employment should be entered into during the period of employment with the North West Regional College. No employment by or in the service of another person or body should be undertaken except with express approval of the Principal and Chief Executive.
