Highest quality chemagen s magnetic bead technology yields in ultrapure nucleic acids Due to chemagen s proprietary Polyvinyl Alcohol particles (M-PVA Magnetic Beads) this extraction technology yields in ultrapure nucleic acids. The hydrophilic surface of these beads results in high affinity to nucleic acids. Once bound to the M-PVA Magnetic Beads, the nucleic acids are transferred with a magnetisable rod to different wash buffers and finally to the elution buffer. This method ensures both: highest purity and reliability. The rod itself is protected by a single disposable sleeve. During the whole isolation process mixing, binding and elution is achieved through the patented rotation of the rods when the magnet is switched off. This technique does not lead to DNA shearing and supports an efficient binding of nucleic acids to the beads. No cross contaminations occur during the isolation process. Unique flexibility Using chemagen s proven nucleic acid extraction technology Automating nucleic acid purification is often a trade-off between quality and throughput: good stand-alone purification systems lack liquid handling support for walk-away operation. In addition, liquid handling workstations often require tedious adaptation of manual protocols. The new chemagic STAR combines chemagen s leading NA purification system with the best automated liquid handling technology to offer you stress-free operation in one benchtop system. The chemagic STAR can process samples from 20µl up to 10ml. The system is available with three extraction heads - the low volume chemagic 96 Rod Head for extractions up to 500µl per sample, the chemagic 24 Rod Head for 500µl - 4ml samples and the high volume chemagic 12 Rod Head for extractions in the range from 1 to 10ml. Wide range of sample material like blood, buffy coat, saliva, cells, tissue, buccal swabs (DNA), plasma, other human body fluids (viral/pathogenic DNA/RNA) and PAXGene blood, tissue and cells (totalrna) can be processed with the chemagic STAR.
