Date Of Issue : February 2000 Page 1 of 5 PRODUCT DESCRIPTION PROPERTIES COLOUR GLOSS LEVEL : UT900 TWO-PACK POLYURETHANE TOPCOAT : A full gloss two-component Polyurethane topcoat designed f internal applications with fast packing time and giving a hard, durable finish. Ideally suited to the decation of timber, M.D.F particle board after sealing and priming. F industrial use only in spray areas complying with relevant regulations. : Full colour range. : Full gloss, also available in satin and matte. HARDENER SELECTION MATTE & SATIN FINISHES UT900 Hardener available f use in cool to moderate conditions (air temperatures 15 to 25 C), on vertical surfaces small areas such as edging & etc. UT903 Hardener available f use in moderate to hot conditions (air temperatures 20 to 30 C) UT903 Hardener can give a slightly different gloss level to that when using UT900 Hardener. This slightly different gloss level may also give an apparent col variation. The different hardeners can be blended by the user to give the required properties to suit individual application and/ weather conditions. Variations in application conditions and substrates may also give an apparent gloss variation. CHEMICAL RESISTANCE : Resistant to most weak acids and alkalis. SOLVENT RESISTANCE : Resistant to most hydrocarbon solvents. Splash resistant against strong active solvents such as MEK, however slight softening and loss of gloss if prolonged exposure to these solvents. ABRASION RESISTANCE HARDNESS LIGHTFASTNESS : Good : Very good : Negligible yellowing when used in internal applications.

Date Of Issue : February 2000 Page 2 of 5 UT900 TWO-PACK POLYURETHANE TOPCOAT TECHNICAL DATA RECOMMENDED FILM BUILD : 45-50 microns dry applied over three passes. FLASHPOINT : 23 C VOLUME SOLIDS : 45% THEORETICAL COVERAGE : 9 metres 2 per litre (approx. at 100 microns wet). COMPONENTS : Two. Both components must be mixed together immediately pri to use. MIXING RATIO : 2 Part A : 1 Part B by volume. POT LIFE AT 25C : 6 hours DRYING AT 25 C Dust free Print free Handle-able : 20 mins. : 1 hour. : 2 hours. F optimum results it is recommended to allow minimum 16 hours drying pri to heavy transptation packing of coating. Curing times are adversely affected by excessive paint film thickness, improper surface preparation, improper drying conditions and increct thinner selection. Various hardeners are available to suit differing gloss levels, applications and ambient weather conditions. The slower hardeners can affect overnight cure rates and therefe it is advisable to test f packing times when using these hardeners. APPLICATION METHODS SHELF LIFE : Conventional spray, airless spray air assisted airless spray. : 12 months at 25 C in sealed containers. PACKAGING : Part A 1 Litre 4 litres 20 litres Part B 1 litre 2 litres 5 litres

THINNING : UT900 is designed as a ready f use system therefe thinners should not be required. If thinning is necessary select the appropriate thinner from the list below THINNER SELECTION UT100 Uthane Thinner and UT900 Fast Thinner are available f use in cool to moderate conditions (air temperatures 15 to 25 C), on vertical surfaces small areas such as edging & etc.. UT101 Medium Thinner/UT900 Slow Thinner are available f use in hot to severe conditions (air temperatures 25 to 35 C), on very large flat areas. The different thinners can be blended by the user to give the required properties to suit individual application and/ weather conditions. SPRAYING Conventional siphon pot : 385kpa (50 psi) Conventional pressure pot : 300 kpa - 450 kpa (45-65 psi) Pressure at pot : 65 kpa ( 10 psi) Pressure at Gun : 385 kpa ( 50 psi) Apply three light coats to give approximately 100 micron wet film build. UT900 is not a recoatable system therefe coatings should be applied in one session. N.B. If recoating is required, allow coating to fully dry and thoughly sand back to ensure adequate key into substrate. EQUIPMENT CLEANUP All equipment should be thoughly cleaned with B.C.
