Define Criteria
Define Criteria Five sections to the performance document. Review the information in each section and add criteria. Detailed instructions can be found above the performance document and under each tab. You can also access a overview of the process by clicking on the Overview link in the performance process pane. Note: Hyperlinks for ITSS Overview section, Due Dates 11
Define Criteria Follow the instructions under each tab. Add criteria by clicking Add Item 12

Define Criteria Competencies Expand or Collapse Items to review competencies. There is no adding items to the competencies section Note: Item and section weighting, discuss with your manager any changes you would like to make 16

Define Criteria Editing, Deleting, and Notifying Items you add can be edited or deleted by selecting the pencil or trashcan icons. Notify your manager once you have completed adding your criteria Note: Edit and Delete icons, Notify link, Email notifications 19
Define Criteria Notifying from eperformance Clicking on the Notify link brings up the page below. You can send the notification from here or select cancel to return to the performance document 20
Define Criteria Criteria Approval Your manager will review the performance criteria that you plan to accomplish and make any necessary changes. When your manager has reviewed the criteria, the changes will be discussed with you and the will be document approved. 21
Commenting on Sections Once the criteria has been approved, section comments are now available. Comments can be shared by selecting the Share with Manager button or sharing can be ended by selecting the Stop Sharing button 22
Checkpoint
Checkpoint Follow the updated instructions at the top of the document. Update your criteria and add comments throughout the performance cycle. You and your manager will meet to discuss your progress. Note: Due date 24
Finalize Criteria
Finalize Criteria New instruction appear at the top of the document. Finalize all of your criteria to prepare your document for self and manager evaluations. Change any status or due dates for items and add any additional comments. Notify you manager when you have completed making your changes. Note: No Complete button for employees 26
Self Evaluation
Self Evaluation Once the Finalize Criteria step has been completed you may now select ratings for your criteria. Self rating is not required. All rating must be entered before due date. The three rated sections have different rating locations. Job Responsibilities are rated at the bottom of the section and Performance Goals and Competencies are rated at each item. 28
Self Evaluation Selecting Rating Add the rating by clicking the dropdown box next to Employee rating. Note: Section rating 29

Self Evaluation Rating Definitions Rating can be selected clicking by definition view or you can return back to the document. Rating is not associated with letter. 31
Self Evaluation Self Evaluation Rating Overall Rating tab holds rating calculated from all sections. The system will calculate the rating by selecting the calculator icon to the right of the Employee rating and definition icon. Number rating only viewable on the overall rating tab. Once you have finished rating your document and adding any comments, click the Complete button to notify your manager. Note: Ratings can also be viewed per section, Due date 32
Manager Evaluation
Acknowledgement Once your manager has received your Self Evaluation and added their own ratings, they will share their ratings with you and meet to discuss the document. After the meeting, you will be requested to Acknowledge that the discussion has taken place. Add any additional comments you would like and select the Acknowledge button. Note: This is your last chance to add any comments to the document 34
Approval
Approval Submitted After the evaluation has been Acknowledged, your manager will submit the evaluation for approval. Evaluations will be approved by 2 nd level manager (Manager s Manager) and an eperformance HR administrator. 36
Approval Denied Documents An email notification will be sent out if the document is not approved. The Document is still located in the My Current Documents folder. The Review with manager steps will be repeated and the document will be resubmit for approval. Note: Includes Rating, Discussion, Acknowledgement, and submitting 37
Approval Approved Documents The employee and manager will receive an email notification once the document is approved. Approved documents will be stored in historical documents folder. The folder can be accessed from the my.unt.edu portal page or through EIS HCM. 38
