Topic Structure: 4 main parts 1. Specific Challenge: What is the problem? 2. Scope - Framework / focus for solution - Less prescriptive than FP7 - SMEs are often mentioned as required or desired partners 3. Expected Impact - if your project is succesful, which impacts should be reached? - Another way to focus the topic - Expected impact for EU SMEs is often mentioned 4. Type of Action: the support mechanism (RIA, IA, CSA, SME Instrument)

Agri-Food SMEs: many opportunities! Horizon 2020 SME instrument - H2020 topic SFS-8-2014/2015: "resource-efficient ecoinnovative food production and processing" - Phase 1 (feasibility study) and 2 (innovation project) but also other H2020 funding, since: - 20% of H2020 budget for SMEs! - SMEs are interesting partners (scope and expected impact) - "Close to market" (IA, Innovation Action) topics => quicker results possible - Not only SFS call, also others!
