Installation Instructions for GoHaus Vinyl Glue Down Flooring - Pro PLEASE READ BEFORE INSTALLATION Congratulations on your purchase of GoHaus Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT). You have chosen the easiest to install and most reliable LVT floors on the market. Below are detailed instructions for the installation and maintenance of GoHaus Pro Construction Dryback Glue-Down Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT), for residential and commercial use. General Guidelines: GoHaus LVT should only be installed indoors, NEVER outdoors. GoHaus LVT should be installed in an indoor climate controlled location that is between 65 F - 85 F. During the life of the floor, the floors can handle a slightly wider range, from 55 F to 100 F. The performance and lifespan of both the floor and underlayment will be adversely affected outside this temperature range. GoHaus LVT should be acclimated on the climate-controlled job site for 48 hours prior to installation. Only install your floor after your job site has been thoroughly cleaned, so no damage occurs during installation. During installation, open 2-3 boxes and mix planks from each, to minimize color and pattern variation. Protect your vinyl floors from constant exposure to direct sunlight. Job Site Conditions: Most problems with all flooring installations are a result of poorly prepared subfloors. Uneven or rough subfloors will create problems that will transfer to the floor. GoHaus LVT is approved for the following subfloors. Please follow the specific prep instructions for your subfloor: Concrete: The concrete must be free of any residual curing compounds or adhesives. Please note! Just because old flooring has been removed does NOT mean the adhesive has been fully removed. Old adhesive can seal the floor. It is important to know whether the floor is sealed or not, as this will affect the adhesive you use. As such, it is recommended that you remove all old adhesive prior to use. 2 of 5

The subfloor surface must be smooth, hard, clean and dry before installation. Concrete slabs exceeding 3 lb. per 1000 sq ft (1.36 kg) MVER according to ASTM F1869 and 75% Relative Humidity according to ASTM F2170 must be treated prior to the installation, and there must be no traces of paint, varnish, wax, oil, solvent, or other foreign substances that could contaminate the adhesive bond. Lightweight Concrete: It is important that this type of concrete be dense enough. The minimum density of the concrete should be greater than 90 lb. per cubic foot. The minimum compressive strength should be 3,500 psi or greater. Gypsum-based concretes are not recommended. If installing over gypsum or other forms of light concrete, always apply an acrylic-based primer sealer coat before troweling adhesive. Additional guidelines for Concrete subfloors: Concrete subfloors must be dry, smooth, and free from dust, solvent paint, wax, grease, oil, asphalt sealing compounds, and other extraneous materials. The surface must be hard, dense, and free from powder or flaking. New concrete slabs must be thoroughly dry (at least 6 weeks) and completely cured. The final responsibility for determining if the concrete is dry enough for installation of the flooring lies with the floor covering installer. Holes, grooves, expansion joints, and other depressions must be filled with a Portland cement-based underlayment and troweled smooth and feathered evenly with the surrounding surface. Concrete floors with a radiant heating system are satisfactory subfloors provided the temperature of the floor does not exceed 90 F at any point. Before installation, turn on the heating system to eliminate any residual moisture, and ensure the floor is installed at normal living conditions. Wood Subfloor: Wood subfloors, plywood or otherwise, should be standard double layer construction, with a finished thickness of at least 1 and should have 18 of well-ventilated air space underneath. Crawl spaces should be insulated and protected by a vapor barrier. Do not install vinyl flooring over a sleeper type subfloor, or over plywood that is directly over a concrete slab. Prep: Please note that many old resilient floors, such as linoleum, were installed using cutback adhesives that may contain asbestos. Please consult with a professional prior to attempting to remove these old asbestos adhesives. Your LVT flooring must be stored in the room where it will be installed for at least 24 hours beforehand. The room should be heated to normal living conditions at all times before, during, and after installation. If necessary, this may require using a temporary HVAC system (portable heaters may not be powerful enough). 3 of 5

The material must be checked before laying and the supplier must be informed immediately in case of any defects. Installation: General Guidelines To avoid all risk of movement during installation, secure the floor covering around the perimeter of the room using double-sided adhesive tape. Before using any adhesive, plan the layout so the tile joints fall at least 6 away from subfloor/underlayment joints, if they exist. The end-joints of the planks should be staggered a minimum of 6 apart. There are many adhesives approved for vinyl available both online and in big box stores. The performance of these adhesives is the sole responsibility of the adhesive manufacturer and the installer. It is very important to follow the adhesive manufacturer s instructions, and use the correct size trowel. GoHaus cannot be held responsible for any failure resulting from the use of the adhesive chosen. If using a GoHaus recommended adhesive, use a finely notched trowel to apply the adhesive. See GoHaus adhesive instructions for more details. Emulsion adhesives are sensitive to frost, application of adhesive can only be undertaken in a warm atmosphere. Acrylic emulsion or dispersion adhesives have a consumption rate between 250-350g/m² depending on the backing of the floor covering and the porosity of the subfloor surface. Immediately after installation, roll flooring diagonally to plank joints in both directions with a 100-lb. (45 kg), three section steel roller. Additionally, roll all plank joints with a handheld seam roller. Foot traffic and the installation of furniture are not permissible until 24 48 hours have lapsed from the time the installation was completed. Layout of Room 1. Measure and mark the room. Find the center point of the room and draw a centerline using a suitable straight edge or chalk line. 2. Proper placement of the first row is key to the installation: place parallel to the longest wall and draw a line 6 inches along the wall. 3. Dry lay a test row of LVT along the line with the groove side on the line. If the line is not square, reposition. 4. Measure and mark the centerline. That centerline must be perpendicular to the line running along the side of the wall. 5. Normally, you will apply adhesive to 1/2 of the area at a time so that you can start the installation along the center starting line. Apply adhesive and allow the adhesive to set until dry-to-the-touch, as per the recommended open time on the adhesive label. This takes 30 minutes or more depending on the temperature, humidity and air flow in the room. The adhesive should be tacky to the touch without transfer to fingers when ready for bonding. 6. Begin laying planks along the center starting line and install row by row, including the cut pieces at the perimeter until 1/2 of the installation is complete. Stagger the end joints by at least 6. Apply adhesive to the remaining portion of the room. Allow the adhesive to set until 4 of 5

dry to touch and complete the installation of planks in a similar fashion. Be careful not to step on previously installed tiles and dislodging them before they dry. 7. After LVT is installed, immediately roll the entire floor with a 100 lb. roller. Use a hand roller in confined areas where the large floor roller will not reach, such as under toe kicks. The planks may be walked on immediately. However, the floor should not be exposed to heavy rolling load traffic for 72 hours after the installation. Use pieces of hardboard or underlayment panels to protect the floor when moving heavy furniture and appliances back into the room. Cutting Planks Remember to cut and set planks at each end of the row before installing the next row. Use a utility knife to score the top surface and snap the plank. For odd shapes and curves around doors, use a coping saw or hacksaw. Tips Randomly stagger the starter boards, while keeping them at least 6 apart. Tightly install each row. Do not allow planks to set in adhesive for longer than ½ hour without rolling with a 100 lb. 3 section steel roller. When installing or re-installing appliances, make sure to use hard board to roll appliances on, including stoves, refrigerators, dishwashers, ice makers, etc., to protect the newly installed plank. Additionally, place heavy gauge cardboard over entire surface area as protection for workers, painters, electricians, etc., if work is still being completed in the home or apartment. Care After Installation: If the room temperature changes sharply before the adhesives are sufficiently hardened, the dimensional change may cause the edges to become loose. Do not drag and move any heavy objects on the product as it may cause damage or warping. Use alcohol to remove contaminants from the surface of the floor. Do NOT use solvents such as acetone and/or paint thinner. Make sure that the surface of the floor is not contaminated by any acidic substance that may cause discoloration Regular wax coatings can be used to help improve the durability of your vinyl floors. This is generally only recommended for commercial installations. Please speak to a GoHaus product specialist for more information. 5 of 5
