Q, QH & QL TOWERS 16.1 Q, QH, and QL Towers General Description The series includes three and four leg angle towers, which are suited for a variety of antenna mounting positions and load conditions. The structures' versatile design allows easy customization for accommodating unique antenna mounting requirements. The design also allows for a variety of transmission line application configurations. The structures can be supported by either pier footing or slab foundation. Step bolts are provided with the towers, and external walkways and climbing ladders may be ordered additionally. Q Tower Q Towers are four leg models with a single antenna mounting bay at the top of the tower. The maximum antenna load that can be applied at the centerline of the mounting bay of the Q15, Q20, Q25 and Q30 towers is 6,500 lbs with 200 inch-kips of torque. Allowable antenna load for the Q35 and Q40 towers is 5,000 lbs with 250 inch-kips of torque. 4' mounting bay 7' Gage lines 91164 Q15 Anchor Bolts $175.00 91165 Q20 Anchor Bolts $175.00 91166 Q25 Anchor Bolts $300.00 91167 Q30 Anchor Bolts $300.00 91168 Q35 Anchor Bolts $300.00 91169 Q40 Anchor Bolts $375.00 30' Q Tower Shown Reactions - Maximum Per Leg Number Model Height Uplift lbs. 16.2 Q, QH AND QL TOWERS QH Tower QH Towers are four-leg models with two antenna mounting bays. This variation of the standard Q tower provides greater flexibility for the mounting of antennas. The maximum antenna load that can be applied at the centerline of each mounting bay is 5,500 lbs with 0 inch-kips of torque, or 4,500 lbs with 55 inch-kips of torque. QL Tower QL Towers are three-leg models available in 15' and 20' models with a single antenna mounting bay at the top of tower. Q, QH & QL TOWERS 16.5 Q, QH and QL Slab Foundations General Notes 1. Concrete shall have a minimum compressive strength of 3,000 psi at 28 days. 2. Use ASTM A615 Grade60 deformed reinforcing bars with minimum yield strength of 60,000 psi. 4' 1/2" 30 30 3. Auger footings are designed to have minimum safety factors per latest revision of EIA/TIA Standards. 6' 3/4" 4. Reinforcing bar to be supplied by the foundation contractor. 5. Rock anchor footing should only be used where the rock formation is sound enough for drilling and grouting. Outcroppings with large fractures and pieces of rock that are easily separated from the formation will not allow proper placement of the footing bars. Excavation must be made to a solid rock strata. 7' 3' 6" 6. The height of piers above grade can be varied for the best choice of anchor bolt embedment in the rock and height of pier. Also, the heights of piers above grade often are determined by leveling requirements and other reference elevations. 7. The vertical reinforcing bars should be within three inches of pier top. Where the grouted bar is too short to extend the pier height, a proper rebar splice should be made by welding or overlapping.
