SAP Financial Close and Disclosure Management rapid-deployment solution: Software Requirements 1 Purpose of the Document This document contains all information to: Validate that key prerequisites such as software components and versions match the customer situation. Check that all prerequisites for a customer implementation are in place Check that correct content, tools and skills are in place before the project starts. The document will list requirements for all Scope Items included in the package. For requirements valid for certain scope items only, these scope items are mentioned. The document contains prerequisites only, not the procedures to meet them. For more information on downloading the solution content and configuration, see the Quick Guide for this rapiddeployment solution. 2 General Project Prerequisites The following prerequisites need to be in place before an implementation project can start. 2.1 Solution Options There are two primary accounting frameworks, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP). Each has key differences affecting how results are prepared and reported. SAP Financial Close and Disclosure Management rapid-deployment solution provides an answer using either framework with additional options for systems landscape, depending on the accounting conventions required to be reported in your financial statements. 2.1.1 IFRS Options If you use the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) this rapid-deployment solution has 4 options for system landscape: 1. SAP Disclosure Management with SAP Financial Consolidation 2. SAP Disclosure Management with SAP Business Planning & Consolidation, version for SAP NetWeaver 3. SAP Disclosure Management with SAP Business Planning & Consolidation, version for the Microsoft platform 4. SAP Disclosure Management with another consolidation system (external data) 2.1.2 US GAAP Options If you use the United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) this rapiddeployment solution has 2 options for system landscape: 1. SAP Disclosure Management and SAP Business Planning & Consolidation, version for SAP NetWeaver 2. 3.2 Technical Requirements This solution provides RDS contents and configuration for setting up your system for either IFRS or US GAAP reporting. Additional technical requirement for using the Content: SAP Business Planning and Consolidation EPM add-in for Microsoft Office The RDS content is shipped with Excel reports leveraging the SAP EPM Excel add-in. The RDS content requires SAP Planning and Consolidation, add-in for Microsoft Office version 10.0 with Support Package 16 and build 8602 (10.0 SP 16 NET 4) or any higher version to be restored and operated. Microsoft Office The RDS content is shipped with Excel reports leveraging the SAP Business Planning and Consolidation add-in for Microsoft Office. Most of these reports use the latest specific Microsoft Excel 2007 features in terms of calculation formulas, themes for cell formats and conditional formatting. Therefore, it is mandatory to install Microsoft Office 2007 or 2010 on client computers to use these Excel reports 3.3 SAP Notes and additional solution-specific instructions The following SAP Notes must be implemented for the particular options using that application. SAP Notes referring to software not used with your option can be skipped: SAP Note # Description Component Area Remark 1656290 This SAP Note contains critical information for implementing the SAP Best Practices for EPM, which are the basis for the system pre-configuration related to the SAP Financial Close and Disclosure Management rapiddeployment solution. Before you start the activation of the related SAP Best Practices scope, check the latest versions of this SAP Note.
