In the interests of the safety of you and others, please read this leaflet. If you don t understand any part, please ask a Chalmers employee. Chalmers has two distinct operational Depots on either side of Whimbrel Street, Port of : :: #25 - Container Park :: #26 Freight Station and Administration These Instructions apply to both Depots as specified. You must read SECTIONS 1, 4 & 5 regardless of which Depot you will visit. And either SECTION 2 or 3 depending on which Depot you will be visiting. SECTION 2 applies to our Container Park and SECTION 3 applies to our Freight Station. Whilst this document is current at the time of writing, future changes in site layout, traffic flows and/or rules may occur. Please be aware of this and ask a Chalmers Manager, if there is any matter requiring further explanation. This Visitor Site Safety Induction is also available on our web site: http://www.chalmers.net.au/docs.htm SECTION 1 ALL SITES WHIMBREL STREET, PORT OF BRISBANE THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS APPLY TO ALL SITES. PLEASE ADHERE TO THEM. A safety vest or high visibility apparel (as per Australian Standards). You are on a heavy industrial site be aware, at all times, of the high volume of industrial traffic. It is your responsibility to use care and caution whilst on site. Any person entering any Chalmers site does so at their own risk. When walking through the Depot, remain on the yellow walkways as far as practicable. Give way to forklifts at all times. Please refer to and observe the respective Traffic Management Plan (attached). Note & obey all traffic management signs. There is a strict 10 km per hour speed limit. You are only authorised to enter or exit via designated areas. Chalmers is a Drug and Alcohol free environment - no person is authorised to be on-site under any level of influence. Visitors cannot smoke anywhere on site. Children under 16 years of age and animals must remain in the vehicle at all times. You must have appropriate training, certificates or licenses for all tasks you carry out whilst working on site. All incidents & near misses must be reported immediately to a Chalmers Manager. For your security, keep your vehicles locked at all times when not attended. FAILURE TO ADHERE TO ANY OF THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THIS DOCUMENT OR DIRECTIONS BY CHALMERS MANAGEMENT WHILST YOU ARE ON SITE, WILL RESULT IN YOU BEING ASKED TO LEAVE AND POSSIBLY BEING BANNED FROM FUTURE ACCESS. SECTION 2 VISITOR ACCESS CONTAINER PARK Please read Section 1 above and then all relevant Instructions following. Visitors MUST first proceed to the IN Gatehouse / Container Control Office just in front of the entry gate from Whimbrel Street and sign in. The only exceptions to this are Reefer Mechanics or Outside Forklift Mechanics who are to sign in at the OUT Gatehouse / Container Control Office just in front of the exit gate from Whimbrel Street OR drivers delivering parts to our workshop who must proceed directly to the Workshop Office which is located to the right of this entry gate. Please refer to the Container Park Traffic Management Plan. Visitors include drivers making deliveries on behalf of suppliers. Visitors who are external container service personnel (i.e. Truck Drivers) with ongoing business within the operational areas of the Container Park, do not have to report on each visit. Nevertheless, all other aspects of this Induction leaflet continue to apply to them. These personnel MUST remain in or with their vehicle at all times as appropriate particularly when they are loading or unloading. Visitors, excluding external container service personnel, cannot enter operational areas unless accompanied by a Chalmers employee. SECTION 3 VISITOR ACCESS FREIGHT STATION (A) ADMINISTRATION ONLY If you are visiting Chalmers Administration only, please park in the Visitors & Employees carpark to the right of the twoway Entrance/Exit located south of the Administration office refer Freight Station Traffic Management Plan. Parking on the kerbside of Whimbrel Street should only take place if no parking spaces are available. All visitors MUST first proceed to the reception area at the entrance to the Administration building. You must: sign the Visitors Register get a copy of this Induction (if not previously provided). get a Visitor s Pass. get a high visibility vest if you plan to visit the Freight Station. wear closed in shoes if you plan to visit the Freight Station. Follow relevant Instructions in SECTION 1. Visitors MUST also return to the reception area to hand back the Pass and vest & to sign out before departing. Signing in and out is important as it facilitates speedy evacuation of visitors, should an emergency arise. Please note that: Visitors MUST be accompanied by a Chalmers staff member on site. Where a visitor is performing a set task, they will be escorted to the agreed area and are not to leave this area without again being escorted by a Chalmers staff member. If your visit concerns a Freight Station operation (not related to Administration), then please follow the Instructions specific to the purpose(s) of your visit as detailed below. (B) LCL PICKUPS & COURIERS FOR LOGISTICS Please refer to attached Freight Station Traffic Management Plan for your strict adherence. Please seek clarification from Chalmers staff should you require, prior to entering the Depot. Drivers can ONLY get out of their vehicles to process paperwork at the Freight Station Office and to stand in the Driver Safe Zone to supervise their truck being loaded/unloaded. Strictly NO entry to the warehouse unless accompanied by a Chalmers employee. Whilst in your vehicle, observe pedestrian walkways and give way accordingly.. (C) AQIS & CUSTOMS The permanently placed AQIS officers are not required to sign in each day and may park their vehicle in the parking area on the north boundary. Customs officers bringing in dogs or other equipment must precede to the Freight Station office located at the rear of the warehouse. All other AQIS & Customs officers must park in designated bays outside the Administration Office. Report to the Administration Office & sign in. Whilst in your vehicle, observe pedestrian walkways and give way accordingly. (D) CARGO INSPECTIONS Persons inspecting their cargo are to report to the Administration office reception area, and follow the Instructions for Visitor Access as outlined in (A) above. No unauthorised persons can enter the Yard without the supervision of a Chalmers Employee. Failure to do so may result in being banned from the site. Strictly NO entry to warehouses unless accompanied by a senior Chalmers employee. Whilst in your vehicle, observe pedestrian walkways and give way accordingly. Page 3 of 6 - printed on 05/05/10.

(F) CONTRACTORS All contactors are to report to the Administration Office reception area & follow the Instructions for Visitor Access. (See (A) above) No unauthorised persons are to enter the Yard without the supervision of a Chalmers employee. Strictly NO entry to warehouses unless accompanied by a Chalmers employee. Whilst in your vehicle, observe pedestrian walkways and give way accordingly. SECTION 4 SUPPLIER/ CONTRACTOR REQUIREMENTS Contractors shall indemnify and keep indemnified Chalmers Industries against all claims, legal matters or losses and expenses of any nature whatsoever, which Chalmers Industries may suffer or incur in connection with the loss of life, personal injury and/or damage to property from or out of the performance of the contract and caused or contributed to by the negligence of the contractor or any of the contractor s servants, agents or employees. The contractor shall have in place an insurance policy for $20,000,000 public liability. All debris must be removed by contractor and kept in a safe condition as far as practicable. Please ensure that you have familiarised yourself fully with the Standard Terms & Conditions for the Supply of Goods and Services to Chalmers. These are printed on the reverse side of our Orders and are also available on request. SECTION 5 YOU AGREE TO OBTAIN APPROVAL FROM CHALMERS MANAGEMENT PRIOR TO COMMENCING ANY WORKS INVOLVING: Working in an area subject to vehicle or pedestrian traffic. Working in a confined space. Operating equipment, which has the potential to generate noise levels greater than 85 dba. Working at a platform height greater than 2 meters. Operation of any Chalmers plant or equipment. Bringing dangerous goods on-site for the purpose of your contract. While on-site you must comply with Dangerous Goods Regulations 2000 (statutory Rule No. 127/2000).
