CDCC LINE The company has most modern Complete Dry Curing and Dry Cooled (CDCC) Line from M/s Nokia Maillefer, Finland. The unique feature of this Line is its rotating Caterpillar giving uniform thickness throughout running of the Line. Further, the Line has both Curing and Cooling section as Catenary which ensures excellent centre of the core during extrusion throughout running of the Line. (First of its kind in India) - The CDCC Line is fully automatic with a Close Loop feeding system without any manual touch. The feeding system is enclosed in a pressurized room having Hepa Filters which ensures dust free environment of feeding system. - The Line is equipped with automatic motorized proportionate valve for heating/cooling of the Extruders which ensure that the temperature during running of the Line is in the accuracy of + 0.5 o C. - A True Triple Cross Head Extrusion (common for all the three layers), i.e. Conductor screening, main insulation and insulation screening. Triple Cross Head ensures prefect interlayer bonding of the material and removes any possibility of void formation as compared to Dual Cross Head system. HV & EHV XLPE Power Cables upto 132 KV. AAC, ACSR, AAAC, AACSR Over Head Conductor upto 800 KV Lines. - The Curing Tube is heated through induction heating with individual Zones (total 8 zones) being connected to inductive low voltage High Ampere Transformer. This unique feature of heating is first of its kind in India. This system ensures far better curing as compared to conventional CCV Line. Cables produced with above CDCC Line offer following advantages. Cables are free from Micro voids and water trees. Higher AC breakdown strength. Higher impulse breakdown strength. Excellent service reliability.

CONSTRUCTION AND SPECIFICATION OF EHV XLPE CABLES Conductor The conductor shall be composed of plain copper or aluminum wires complying with IS:8130, IEC 60228 or any other International Specification. The conductor shall be stranded compacted circular, or segmental compacted circular. Segmental compacted circular conductors shall be applied to cables of conductor nominal cross-sectional areas of 1200 mm 2 and above. Conductor Shielding Conductor shielding of an extruded semi-conducting thermosetting compound applied over the conductor. One or two layer of semi- conducting tape(s) may be applied with a proper lapping between the conductor and the extruded semiconducting layer. Insulation The insulation shall be of dry-cured super clean XLPE compound with a thickness to meet dimensional, electrical and physical requirements specified as per relevant National or International Specification. Insulation Shielding The insulation shielding shall be applied directly over the insulation and shall consist of extruded semi-conducting compound. Further a layer of semiconducting tape is also provided. Matallic Layer The metallic layer shall be of copper tape / copper wires covered with plastic laminated aluminium tape or alternatively with corrugated aluminium sheath which is applied to meet desired short circuit parameters. Use of lead sheath, earlier very popular, is now being discouraged world over due to pollution related & extra weight handling issues. Moisture Barrier Longitudinal Moisture Barrier protection is provided by S.C. water swellable tape whereas radial moisture barrier protection is provided either by plastic laminated metal tape or corrugated aluminium sheath or lead alloy sheath. Inner Sheath Inner sheath shall be of PVC Compound or thermoplastic polyethylene compound. Armour Armour shall be of non magnetic metallic wires. Outer Sheath The outer Sheath shall consist of thermoplastic PVC / PE compound extruded continuously over the metallic layer or moisture barrier or armour. A layer of bituminous compound shall be applied under the outer sheath to protect the metallic sheath (Corrugated aluminium sheath / lead sheath) against corrosion.
