HealthStream Learning Center User Guide for Students Access the HealthStream log-on page: From Outside of the Hospital/From Home: Use the following link: www.healthstream.com/hlc/salemhealth From Within the Hospital: From the Intranet, go to the Tools & Resources and click the HealthStream link Prior to logging into HealthStream, please note the following System Requirements: Popup Blocking Disabled Adobe FlashPlayer 11 or above Adobe Reader 10 or above Browser options: Internet Explorer 9 or greater (Windows PCs) Safari 7 or greater (Mac Computers) Chrome (PC and Mac Computers) Firefox (PC and Mac computers) Logging into your HealthStream account: User ID = Salem Health ID# (8 _) provided by your Salem Health contact Password = salem * *Returning Students your password will remain as the same password that you used during your last rotation at Salem Health Upon logging into HealthStream, you will be prompted to change your password to a personalized password. After changing your password, you will log back in using your new password. This is a one-time change requirement. Your account will open to the HealthStream Highlights page. This page includes links to this user guide, and a quick link to perform a browser check to ensure your computer meets the recommended system settings. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click CONTINUE. Please make note of the following: Completion Due Dates: All of the courses that are assigned to you in HealthStream should be completed prior to arriving for your first day at Salem Health. Student Evaluation: If you have been assigned a student placement evaluation, the due date automatically defaults to 3 months following your start date, which may not reflect the exact end date of your internship. Near the completion of your internship, please return to HealthStream to complete the student placement evaluation. Issues with Epic course remaining in Progress: If an Epic lesson remains in progress after you have completed it, proceed onto the next lesson. Repeating the lesson will likely not resolve the issue. After you have completed the remaining lessons, contact the LMS Specialist or Clinical Education for assistance in changing the Epic course to a completed status.
My To-Do List Click Take a Tour for a quick overview of navigating the To-Do List Click Quick Start button to quickly move to the activity on your To-Do List In the Reminder box, you can click the link to return to the Highlights page In the Support box, contact information is listed if you experience problems To begin a course, click on the course name The Learning Activities page will appear Click Star to begin the activity After you completed the Lesson, click Exit Lesson
You will return to the Learning Activities page Click Star to begin the Exam You will receive a message alert, indicating if you successfully passed the test or if you did not pass the test and therefore a re-test is required Review any questions that were answered incorrectly, and then click Exit Test A pop-up box will appear indicating that you completed the course. Click Return to To-Do if you have additional coruses to complete NOTE: The completed course will now be listed under the Completed tab
If the course offers a Pre-Assessment: Upon opening the course, you will start with the Pre-Assessment If you pass the Pre-Assessment The following pop-up box will appear: Review any questions that were answered incorrectly, and then click Exit Test A pop-up box will then appear indicating that you completed the course Click Return to To-Do if you have additional courses to complete NOTE: As you complete courses, they will move to the Completed tab
