Corporate Summary

Benefits of SUM LTD Insulation Products SUM LTD strives to offer technically advanced and innovative solutions to Heat and Sound isolation. These benefits include protection and cost savings. Equipment Protection Freeze protection solutions are built using our blankets insulating properties and trace heating (Glycol, Electric, Steam). We partner with various providers to offer the best heating options. Extreme conditions can be very damaging to equipment. To reduce the damage from rapid heating and cooling, equipment can be covered with insulated blankets. These blankets help to maintain a constant temperature thus reducing the stress on the equipment and increasing its longevity. Welding sparks and slag can cause fires and burns if not actively contained. SUM LTD builds custom and standard size welding blankets for a range of applications. Whatever your temperature needs are, SUM LTD can design a solution to protect you. Personnel Protection Heated equipment is a safety hazard for personnel. Anyone working around this equipment runs the risk getting burnt. Blankets can help reduce this risk by shielding personnel from hazardous heated equipment. In an environment with noise levels at 85 decibels, Occupational Health and Safety allows employees to work no more that 8 hours per shift. By containing the noise within a well designed blanket you can lower decibel transmission by as much as 15 decibels*. Cost Savings Process Heating and Heat Isolation solutions are applicable for oil and gas refineries. SUM designs blankets to fit tightly to applications allowing the maximum heat containment. Heat containment is typically used on equipment operating between 100 F - 300 F. For example; without a cover, a heated 6 ANSI 150 gate valve can cost as much as $414.00 CAD per year in heat loss**. The energy savings using a SUM LTD blanket would cover its costs on average in 6-12 months. SUM LTD offers technically advanced solutions to complex insulation needs. This catalogue is to be used as a sales tool and a reference guide. Any additional information can be attained from SUM LTD s Offices. HOW CAN WE COVER YOUR NEEDS? * See graph in acoustic section, contact SUM LTD for more information ** Study done by the U.S. Department of Energy, see next page for more details and contact SUM LTD for a full copy of the report

Thermal Solutions Standard Valve Covers SUM LTD custom manufactures valve covers for a wide range of valves. Valve covers are designed to cover each of the flanged ends and sit tightly against the hard insulation. Additionally there are 2 flaps on each end to close off the cover. Nomex cord tie straps stop elements (wind, rain, oil, sand, etc) from entering into the blanket. SUM BENEFITS SUM LTD s blankets provide excellent freeze protection when coupled with heat tracing (electric, stream or glycol). Personnel protection is important in areas where surfaces can cause burns due to high operating temperatures. The costs of SUM Blankets are recouped in an expedited manner due to the double cost savings; first, SUM blankets reduce the heat loss over the surface of the valve thus reducing the cost of energy needed to heat the application. Second, a quick installation time without tools allows for work to be done quickly and efficiently. *These valve blankets shown do not have bonnets, see next pages for valves with bonnets. Materials Teflon Jacket (rated to 500ºF) Tecmat Insulation (2, see wall construction) Stainless steel D rings, pins and washers Velcro, Nomex cord, and Teflon strap fasteners Aluminum identification tag Other materials that can be used for construction include Silicon, and Tecstar jackets and liners
