Roof Decking: RD60 Firth Steels manufacture and supply various types of structural roof deck profiles, each characterised by the depth of each profile which lends itself in its design to various characteristics needed such as rust protection, aesthetics, structural capacity, noise insulation, thermal insulation and more. By definition, roof decking supports the roof elements but does not provide the weatherproofing layer. Where metal profiles provide the weatherproofing they are referred to as roof sheeting or roof cladding. All structural roof decks supplied by Firth Steels give strength, durability and cost efficiency in roof constructions and are the optimal choice in different roof constructions due to their weight and load-bearing capacity. They are suitable for roof decking, external roof sheeting and intermediate flooring and can also be used as formwork for concrete slabs. The most economical solutions can be obtained by using our load span tables, and where applicable dimensioning software for roof optimisation. Roof decks can be used for insulated and non-insulated roofs, for example in the following buildings: Production Halls Warehouses Shopping Centres Office Blocks Renovation Projects Sports Buildings There are 4 different depths of profiles available, in varying thicknesses. As with most profiles of a structural nature, the products are named after their depth and therefore structural purpose. These are RD30, RD60, RD130 and RD153. Hot-dipped galvanised steel coil specifications used as the raw material are certified as conforming to EN 10346:2009 (Yield and Chemical & Mechanical Properties) and EN 10143:2006 (Tolerances on Shape and Dimension). All these mill test certificates, as well as Firth Steels own for the manufactured product, can be supplied with each roof decking product manufactured by ourselves and delivered. There is also a need for example in swimming pools for increased corrosion resistance, and we can therefore offer additional paint coatings in various microns thick usually in polyester. The usual colour finish in this application is white. Firth Steels can also offer a perforation service which enables web perforations on the profiles for greater sound absorption this has a good impact on sports halls and swimming pools to eliminate the echo and reverb in these sorts of buildings. 1

Roof Decking: RD60 Building upon our already successful range of trapezoidal composite deck profiles, the RD60 has been developed to complement our existing product range and services. The 333mm trough spacing offers a competitive solution with good spanning capabilities. The 1.0m cover width of the RD60 maximises speed of installation to meet on site programme requirements. RD60 Roof Deck Profile 333 1000 Cover Width 146 187 60 200 RD60 Benefits This 60mm deep structural roof deck can be used as the structural base in a number of lightweight roof and mezzanine floor solutions Manufactured from S280 grade steel with a minimum galvanised coating mass of 275g/m², RD60 is available in mm, mm and mm gauges to suit specific project requirements The RD60 roof deck is to be fixed to supports at 333mm centres (1 per trough) using either shot-fired fixings or self-tapping screws depending on support type.
