Original Page 1 A. GENERAL Electronic Switching System - Automatic Call Distributing Systems provide for distribution of a large volume of calls to attendant positions. If all attendant positions are busy, calls are held in their order of arrival in queue, until an attendant position becomes available or the calling party disconnects. The switching function is performed on the premises of the Telephone Company, where facilities and operating conditions permit, by compatible electronic type switching equipment equipped with the proper generic program. B. REGULATIONS 1. Explanation of Terms Queuing Queuing is an arrangement whereby incoming calls are held awaiting the availability of an attendant position and are unloaded from the queue on a first-in, first-out, basis. Uniform Call Distribution Uniform call distribution is utilized in Electronic Switching System - Automatic Call Distributing Systems to provide an even distribution of incoming calls to available attendant positions. 2. Attendant or supervisor positions located outside of the serving wire center area of the Electronic Switching System - Automatic Call Distributing System. At the discretion of the Telephone Company, subject to operating limits and the availability of facilities, attendant and supervisor positions may be located on a customer's premises located outside of the wire center area of the wire center serving the Electronic Switching System - Automatic Call Distributing System at the rates and charges specified in C. following. 3. Customer Responsibility Chairs and desks or tables required for mounting equipment and operating the service at the customer's location are furnished and maintained by the customer.

Attendant and Supervisor Positions Which are Located on a Customer's Premises Within the Wire Center Area of the Wire Center Serving the Electronic Switching System - Automatic Call Distributing System One channel is required from the serving wire center to the customer's premises for each attendant and supervisor position. No separate charges apply to these channels so long as the number of such channels is equal to, or is exceeded by the total number of facilities provided for local exchange access, foreign central office, foreign exchange, foreign zone, Wide Area Telephone Service (WATS) and tie trunks. When the number of attendant and supervisor positions exceeds the total number of facilities as specified preceding, rates and charges apply for a Series 2000, type 2014, Channel as specified in the Telephone Company's Channel Service s Tariff, for each surplus attendant and supervisor position or position line, between the customer's premises and the serving wire center. b. Attendant and Supervisor Positions Which are Located on a Customer's Premises in a Different Wire Center Area Than the Wire Center Serving the Electronic Switching System - Automatic Call Distributing System Rates and charges are applicable for a Series 2000, type 2014, Channel as specified in the Telephone Company's Channel Services Tariff between the serving wire center of the Electronic Switching System - Automatic Call Distributing System and the wire center serving the customer's premises, for each attendant and supervisor position at that premises. Channels for attendant and supervisor positions between the customer's premises and the wire center serving that premises are provided without separate charge, subject to the same conditions stated in a. preceding. c. Calls Waiting Indication Rates and charges are applicable for a Series 1000 1, type 1001, Channel as specified in the Telephone Company's Channel Services Tariff, Section 2, between the customer's premises and the serving wire center of the Electronic Switching System - Automatic Call Distributing System, for each unique timing state provided. (T) 1 Effective October 31, 2014, Channel Series 1000 service is grandfathered and no longer available for purchase by new customers. Existing customers of record may retain this service at existing locations until the expiration of their contract. Verizon will not renew existing contracts that expire after the effective date.
