S P E C I F I C A T I O N S GENERAL: Vinyl sliding doors shall be Series 9800 for dual glazed and 9700 for single glazed as manufactured by Superior Window Products. Series 9100 French Style vinyl sliding door shall be dual glazed with 4-1/2 wide stiles. MATERIALS: Heavy wall, multi-chambered vinyl extrusions shall be commercial quality compounds that are environmentally safe, containing no heavy metals. All extrusions are ASTM and AAMA certified. FINISH: The finish of all exposed vinyl surfaces shall be clean and free from surface blemishes. The color shall be integrated throughout the material. ASSEMBLY: Frame and sash members are mitered and fusion welded for maximum strength and water-tight construction. Interlocks are reinforced with aluminum extrusions and the vent stile is reinforced with rollformed steel. WEATHERSTRIPPING: Heavy duty double fin weatherstripping shall be installed in specially extruded ports prior to mitering and fusion welding to prevent movement. GLAZING: All Series 9800 & 9100 doors shall be glazed with nominal 7/8 overall insulated tempered safety glass, all Series 9700 doors may be glazed with up to 1/4 (6mm) tempered safety glass. SCREEN: Heavy duty extruded aluminum screen with 18 x 16 charcoal fiberglass mesh is standard. HARDWARE: Adjustable tandem ball bearing rollers contained in a cadmium plated housing are installed in the bottom rail of each vent. Vent panel rolls on a stainless steel cap installed over the vinyl track. An attractively designed handle with a solid crescent shaped pull and thumb activated mortise lock is standard. INSTALLATION: Doors shall be installed square, plumb and level without distortions to the frame. Proper caulking and flashing shall be in accordance of local Building Codes.
