Storage of raw materials, conveying, dosing and weighing, dedusting, screening, charging and discharging, automation are all part of your production process. The mixing process in particular can be part of this production process. In some cases, this might even be the object, the heart of the installation. In only a few quite exceptional cases, the end product is not a composition of various raw materials. As a result, mixing equipment is not included in these installations. But as stated before these cases tend to be rare. Mixing processes are part of the majority of industrial installations. This goes for the food, pharmaceutical, chemical and plastics industry. Standards pertaining to safety, hygiene, accuracy and so on, vary from industry to industry. J-Tec takes into account all this varying standards during the development of the mixing device. Within the science of mixing, three different forms can be distinguished: the mixing of two or more liquids, the mixing of two or more dry materials and the mixing of liquids and dry materials. Depending on the situational factors, one can opt for either a continuous mixing process or batch mixing. However, the object of the two processes is the same: to bring together various ingredients, being dry materials or liquids, in order to create a qualitatively good end product. This end product is either immediately consumable, or it will be further processed. The choice of what mixer to use depends on several other elements For instance to prevent contamination. Certain types of mixers can be cleaned more easily (for instance the slow mixer will be emptied completely). Especially in the food industry, where product switches often take place within a mixer, the easy cleaning of the mixer is a decisive element. Often problems arise because companies have to work with two different suppliers, who each have their own specialty, either solids or liquids. For that reason there was a strong market demand for suppliers who could deliver the entire package: solids handling, the mixing and dissolving of solids into liquids, and the liquids handling. This way the critical separation of responsibilities between solids and liquids suppliers is lifted. Because of J-Tec s extensive knowledge in the fields of solids and liquids handling and control systems we were able to develop an advanced system for the inline dissolving of a high concentration of powders into liquids. Main Principle By means of an intensive mixing system, an accurately controlled flow of powder is dissolved continuously into an accurately controlled flow of liquid. The concentration of powders in the liquid is controllable and adjustable, through a combination of a loss-in-weight feeder and an inline mixer. With this set-up the powders are dosed directly into the liquids flow, and dissolved into the liquid. Advantages As opposed to conventional systems, there are no buffer tanks and intermediate transport necessary, resulting in fewer costs and a reduction in space required for the installation. It offers great flexibility, while still allowing a reproducible process. Less air incorporation This combination makes it possible to change the ingredients and the concentration of the mix very easily. High accuracy and range of dosing (0,5%) The solid/liquid ratio can be changed throughout the entire process. Powder ratio up to 80 % The entire process is easy to clean because it can be cleaned inline: more quickly and more efficiently. Limited number of components that need cleaning It can be used for solids stored in all kinds of storage systems: Bags, Big Bags, silos,...

Mixing Inline mixing Options The set-up that you require can be tested in J-tec s test facilities, where we can simulate the conditions that you need. Heating and cooling are possible. Dosing of additional liquids (other than the main liquid) is also possible. J-Tec s test facilities In our test facilities, we can simulate batch mixing as well as inline mixing processes. A combination of batch and inline mixing is also possible. Product examples The inline mixing system can be used for several types of products. Thanks to J-Tec s thorough knowledge in the field of pneumatic conveying, very long conveying distances can be achieved. Because the powder enters the mixing tank below liquids level, foam creation and product deposits on the wall are reduced to a minimum. The mixing process is accelerated because the powder immediately collides with a high shear mixing element. This way a high powder/liquid ratio can be reached within a small period of time. Mixing Sanimix vacuum mixer Pneumatic conveying With pneumatic conveying it is possible to cover long distances between the mixer and the powder pick-up points. This gives you the considerable advantage that you can implement your mixer virtually anywhere in your (existing) plant. Thanks to this innovation it is no longer necessary to deal with the limitations in distance between the mixer and the powder installations, giving you much more freedom in the lay-out of your plant.
