Job Purpose To supervise receipt, handling, distribution and storage of all freight, product and supplies that come in and out of the warehouse. To oversee and assist the Warehouse Team with loading goods inwards and outwards of the warehouse using manual handling and/or warehouse machinery. To oversee and assist the transportation of stock around the warehouse as required using warehouse machinery and/or manual handling, to make sure the warehouse space is utilised as effectively as possible. To maintain the highest level of accuracy with regards to counts of warehouse stock, stock inwards and outwards to allow the systems in place to flow effectively. To ensure all members of the warehouse team practice the highest level of Health and Safety in the workplace in order to protect themselves and colleagues. To ensure the packing team are supported as required by the Warehouse Team. To provide strong leadership, mentoring and/or supervision to warehouse operatives and other colleagues within the warehouse team.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities Goods Inwards The warehouse supervisor must oversee and assist the warehouse team to ensure Goods Inward are: Received in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Unloaded in-line with health and safety policies and procedures. Free from damage and counted accurately. Checked against the manifest provided and any discrepancies in numbers or product damage are reported to the warehouse manager in-line with the SOP. Stored in the warehouse in a safe and efficient manner to enable stock to be accessed quickly. All important delivery documentation once completed in full must be checked and filed for audit purposes / review by the Warehouse Shift Manager. All delays and variances of inbound orders must be communicated in a timely manner to the Warehouse Shift Manager. Goods Outwards The warehouse supervisor must oversee and assist the warehouse team to ensure Goods Outward are: Accurately prepared from orders provided in-line with customer packaging and labelling specifications. Checked to ensure 100% accuracy of orders for customers. Ready for dispatch with relevant information and documentation required for a successful delivery. In safe and secure loads prior to leaving warehouse year to minimise the risk of damage to stock in transit. Readied for transportation to customers in a timely manner in adherence with the delivery schedules.
Page 3 of 4 Loaded onto vehicles for dispatch and in accordance with the required order and in a timely manner. Prepared and loaded (pallets and/or products) into vehicles safely in-line with Health & Safety policies and procedures. All delays and variances of outbound orders must be communicated in a timely manner to the Warehouse Manager. All picking / packing issues identified should be followed up with the responsible picker / packer. To ensure manifests are completed in full, all orders are marked as present on the manifest and that the manifest is signed by the driver before dispatch. All manifest documentation once completed in full must be checked and filed for audit purposes / review by the Warehouse Manager. Packing Support To accurately pick stock items to fulfil customer orders as provided by the order processing team. To consolidate orders if required and check picked items against the packing list to ensure accurate stock is sent to the customer. To administer quality control checks across products going out to customers prior to packing to minimise returns due to fault or damage. To dispatch orders with appropriate paperwork. Where applicable, pre- wrap items, pack and close cartons securely to ensure effective packaging support for the product during dispatch and to reduce the risk of product damage during transit. Address and label carton accurately to reduce the risk of a failed delivery and comply with packaging guidelines to meet specific customer requirements. Check the courier company daily manifest matches the number of parcels to be sent out each day, reporting any discrepancies to the Warehouse manager for further investigation. Health and Safety To ensure all activities in the warehouse are carried out in accordance with the company Health & Safety handbook, policies and procedures.
Page 4 of 4 To ensure that the warehouse is maintained to a satisfactory level in terms of health and safety, through completing regular risk assessment, liaising with the Warehouse Shift Manager regarding corrective actions required, supporting manual handling, equipment and other ad hoc training of warehouse staff and being a nominated fire and or first aid marshal, fulfilling duties as required for this role. To help ensure all training material is up-to-date and meets with relevant health and safety requirements if highlighted by a risk assessment or change in HSE policy. Represent the department on the Health & Safety Group completing tasks identified through the work of the group in a timely fashion. Continually monitor working practices and make recommendations for improvements. Leadership and Supervision Shift briefs to be held on a daily basis which should consist of Work load for the shift/day, H&S concerns or potential to cause hazard or injury etc. Pre shift checks to be completed on a daily basis when using MHE along with completing and filling in the check sheet. Undertake inductions for new starters and agency staff as required and ensure all relevant paperwork is completed. Daily shift handovers to the next shift/manager/supervisor. Take overall responsibility for all aspects of the effective supervision, training & development and health, safety and welfare of team members assigned to your care. To delegate warehouse tasks appropriately to members of the Warehouse Team. Miscellaneous warehouse tasks To maintain strict control over inventory levels in order to meet internal and external demand of product, reporting any discrepancies to the Warehouse Shift Manager. To supervise any stock-take checks required in order to manage the stock and advise the Warehouse Shift Manager of any stock issues that arise. To ensure stock defects and damages are reported as per the relevant warehouse SOP. To ensure the warehouse, including racking and external yard are kept in a clean, tidy and workable manner. To work with management (as required) and all interfacing departments. To maintain and monitor accurate reporting and audit documentation as requested.
Page 5 of 4 Monitor and review working practices to maximise performance and productivity. To shred cardboard for packaging products as required. To assist the Warehouse Shift Manager to ensure that all handling equipment is safe for use and maintained in accordance with required servicing needs and is in full working order at all times. To ensure housekeeping to be kept to an excellent standard at all times.
