RHINE2SAAR2MOSEL%CONTAINER%EXPRESS% The Saarland draws closer to the European international ports Rhine-Saar-Mosel Container Express is the name of a new project of Frankenbach Container Service GmbH from Mainz. Together with its partner BahnLog GmbH from Kirkel/Homburg (Saar), from now on there will be an environmentally-friendly regular service between the seaports of Antwerp and Rotterdam in inland waterway-rail-road trimodal transportation. Thereby, the strengths of each of the three forms of transport are now used in order to carry the existing highly efficient transport offer via the container terminal in Mainz also by rail to the region of West Palatinate and the Saarland. With three firmly defined train connections per week and, depending on the demand, additional trips by rail or truck, the attractiveness will be raised. The BahnLog company grounds in Kirkel/Homburg (Saar) used by Frankenbach are conveniently situated close to Homburg city centre and the Neunkirchen motorway junction (A6 and A8). From there, the Frankenbach trucks serve the region of West Palatinate and the Saarland in a very short time. Frankenbach, now in its fourth generation, is active in the forwarding business and operates one of the largest container terminals on the Rhine. We have carefully planned the connection of the Saar/West Palatinate region and already tested it in trial operation. With the new service, we want to raise the closeness to our customers through the location in the vicinity of Homburg (Saar) and at the same time expand the use of rail as an environmentally-friendly means of transport. In this way, our customers can expect the same quality and reliability in this region as well, which we are accustomed to providing with our work at our other locations. 15

RHINE2SAAR2MOSEL%CONTAINER%EXPRESS% Reliable Rail transport using the stretch we have selected guarantees punctuality to a large extent. There is no need to fear obstructions caused by motorway construction sites, traffic jams or poor weather conditions, which have to be taken into account with transfer by truck to the terminals on the Rhine or also to the ports in Antwerp and Rotterdam. Fast By rail, a container covers the stretch between Homburg and the terminal in Mainz in a few hours. The departure times on a Friday for exports are calculated so that freight with an adequate time reserve is guaranteed to arrive in the seaports in good time before the closing times on a Sunday. Flexible With its large fleet of trucks and chassis, Frankenbach serves the region of West Palatinate and the Saarland via Kirkel/Homburg (Saar). If required, additional vehicles can also be called from Mainz to the region, so that no constraints on capacity can arise in case of a special order situation. Ecological In principle, as much traffic as possible is to be shifted from the road to the railway and inland waterway vessels. Through the new service via rail, traffic on the road in the region is reduced by approx.180 truck transportations per week. The service in the region is provided by modern trucks from Kirkel, which each fulfil the latest emission guidelines currently Pollutant Class 6. Comprehensive Through the new offer, the region is connected with the large empty container depot. More than 3,000 empty containers from completely different shipping lines are stored there. The handling of hazardous goods transports as well as reefers, bulk goods and 45 pallet wide containers in addition to the delivery with side loaders round out the offering. 17
