An overview of solar technologies and how they can be part of an overall energy efficiency and GHG reduction strategy. The objective is to eliminate emissions from buildings by 2050. The Canadian Green Building Council s Zero Carbon Buildings Initiative will help the industry to move toward this goal 's Community Outreach Program works with not-for-profit, community organizations to help their clients save money and become more comfortable with low-cost, energy-efficient products. Peter will provide an overview of ISO 50001 and share his experiences with its implementation at over 10 organizations in Canada and the US. Building Control systems can fine tune the operation of building systems for occupant comfort, energy savings and maintenance performance. In some cases, control systems and strategies are not optimized at the opening of a building or in its regular operations. This session will highlight typical problems, outline control strategies and opportunities for energy savings, and discuss the partnership between Dalhousie, Efficiency NS and Johnson Controls.
