Targeting the right devices with the right action In-depth analysis ensures priorities are right Good planning enables fast and trouble-free shutdowns Optimizing shutdown costs and workloads Reduce unwanted surprises Shutdowns can be stressful, time-consuming and expensive in terms of costs and productivity. Metso s intelligent shutdown business solution takes the guesswork out of the process, and makes sure you have all the information, equipment and skilled resources before the start. It s all in the planning With intelligent planning, you can target maintenance actions during shutdown only to the devices that need it most. This minimizes the time, workload and people required to carry out the work. Analysis helps you prioritize Careful analysis of all your devices allows us to understand their roles in the process. We can then create a pre-screen shutdown list which identifies those that require an actual shutdown situation, and those that can be maintained outside the shutdown period. Maintenance activities carried out independently from the shutdown reduces labor requirements and the time required during the shutdown. Next we carry out detailed condition analysis to identify devices requiring no action, those that can be maintained in place, those that need to be removed during shutdown and the exact actions required. At the same time we identify spare parts requirements for a fast, troublefree turnaround. Where parts are definitely required, we put them on order so they are ready for the shutdown. Spare parts optimization We help you to reduce unnecessary spare part purchases. In addition to identifying spare parts that will definitely be required, we also identify spare parts and tools that are likely to be needed during your shutdown and create a service container. For a small fee, the service container allows you to have access to a selection of spare parts and tools that may be required in the shutdown. When spare parts are needed for the shutdown, they are then charged for and unused stock can be returned. Effective shutdown management Proactive project management is important to ensure cost, quality and time targets are met. Working closely with you helps us to better understand your requirements. We create a project plan for the shutdown identifying maintenance actions to be taken. We build up and manage the skilled
