Infomatica Labs About the company Infomatica Labs, a software development company has been founded on January 2016. Its founders are two young IT professionals having a good amount of experience in the software industry. The founders have prior experience of developing a B2C product called Waroze.com. It was an E-Commerce platform providing price aggregation and cashback for an online purchase. Infomatica is our second venture. Mission Today, it s inevitable not only to create online presence but also do the business transactions online. Software Development Process Models Following Software Development Process Models (Methodologies) are used. Agile Scrum Scrum is a management and control process that cuts through complexity to focus on building software that meets business needs. Iterative and incremental development Waterfall Model The waterfall model is a sequential (non-iterative) design process, used in software development processes, in which progress is seen as flowing steadily downwards (like a waterfall) through the phases of conception, initiation, analysis, design, construction, testing, production/implementation and maintenance. Prototype Development Software prototyping is the activity of creating prototypes of software applications, i.e., incomplete versions of the software program being developed, so that the software designer and implementer can get valuable feedback from the users early in the project. Software Development Pricing Models The company offers different pricing models to chose from based on the customer s software development requirements. Fixed Price A fixed-price contract is a type of contract where the payment amount does not depend on resources used or time expended. Fixed-price model can help in pre-determining the value of the entire software. Such a contract continues to be popular and tend to work when the software requirements are well known in advance. In this type of contract, customer gives the software requirement and the vendor estimates the cost and time based on the nature and complexity of the software. This model works well when the software requirement adheres to the standards of a specific industry and such a software is already developed in past so that it is easier to estimate the cost of the software. Time and Material Time and Materials is a contract for software development in which the customer agrees to pay the vendor based upon the time spent by the vendor s employees(software Professionals) to perform the work, and for resources used in the software development, no matter how much work is required to complete the project. Time and Materials model is generally used in projects in which it is not possible to accurately estimate the size of the project, or when it is expected that the project requirements would most likely change. In this type of contract, customer gives the software requirement for which the vendor suggests the number of resources to be deployed on the project. Customer and Vendor agrees upon the hourly rate to be paid for the efforts put by each team member based on his/her skills, experience and role in the project. Dedicated Team In case of the Dedicated Team model, customer hires software professionals to work dedicatedly on his software development project. This model is suitable when the scope of the project is not fixed. Customer wants to have full control over the team and wants to validate the product as it is developed. Customer has the flexibility to make changes to the requirement as needed. In this type of contract, customer gives the high level requirement and the vendor suggests number of team members to deploy for initial setup. The
dedicated team is then not allocated to any other project during the contracted time span hence always available to take up any work. Customer pays the agreed upon hourly charge for each dedicated team member based on his/her skills, experience and role in the project considering full working hours till the contract lasts.
