FIRST AID MEASURES Description of Necessary First Aid Measures: Inhalation: Remove casualty to fresh air. Skin Contact: Wash skin with mild soap and water. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Eye Contact: In case of dust contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water. Seek medical attention if ill effect or irritation develops. Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. Rinse mouth. Give water to drink if victim completely conscious/alert. Seek medical attention if ill effect develops. First Aid Facilities: Ensure washing facilities, including an eyewash, are available and maintained. Symptoms caused by Exposure: Inhalation: No significant signs or symptoms indicative of any adverse health hazard are expected to occur as a result of inhalation exposure. Skin: Not expected to present a significant skin hazard under anticipated conditions of normal use. Eye: Dust from this product may cause eye irritation. Ingestion: Health hazard if ingested in large quantities (gastro-intestinal disorders). In extreme cases, formation of methaemoglobin - "Blue baby syndrome" - and cyanosis may occur. Medical Attention and Special Treatment: Thermal decomposition generates toxic vapours. 5. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES Suitable Extinguishing Equipment: Large quantity of water. Do NOT use CO 2, foam or sand Page 2 of 7

Specific Hazards arising from the Chemical: Special Protective Equipment and Precautions for Fire Fighters: Thermal decomposition generates toxic vapours. Heat may build pressure, rupturing closed containers, spreading fire and increasing risk of burns and injuries. The product is not flammable. May accelerate the burning of other combustible materials. Do not enter fire area without proper protective equipment, including respiratory protection. Exercise caution when fighting any chemical fire. Prevent entry to sewers and public waters. Notify authorities if product enters sewers or public waters. Use water spray or fog for cooling exposed containers. 6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES Personal Precautions, Protective Equipment and Emergency Procedures: Environmental Precautions: Methods and Materials for Containment and Cleaning Up: Spills should be handled by trained cleaning personnel properly equipped with respiratory and eye protection. Prevent entry to sewers and public waters. Notify authorities if product enters sewers or public waters. Collect spills and put it into appropriate container. Use appropriate container to avoid product contamination. Do not allow to mix with sawdust and other combustible or organic substances. (See materials to avoid section 10) 7. HANDLING AND STORAGE Precautions for Safe Handling: Conditions for Safe Storage, including any Incompatibilities: Avoid all unnecessary exposure. Ensure prompt removal from eyes, skin and clothing. Wash hands and other exposed areas with mild soap and water before eat, drink or smoke and when leaving work. Keep away from food, drink and animal feeding stuffs. Both local exhaust and general room ventilation are usually required. Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety procedures. Minimize generation of dust. Keep only in the original container in a cool, well ventilated place. Store away from heat/moisture. Avoid (see section 10): organic materials, reducing agents, acids, alkalis, oxidizing agents, chlorides, nitrites, metallic powders and substances containing metals such as copper, nickel, cobalt, zinc and their alloys. 8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS AND PERSONAL PROTECTION Exposure Standards: Manganese sulfate: TLV -TWA [mg/m³]: 0.2 (Mn) Manganese sulfate: HTP-värden - 8 H - [mg/m³]: 5 General non-hazardous dust exposure limit TLV-TWA: 10 mg/m 3 Page 3 of 7
