Why Promote the Use of Reusable Bags? Government legislation. Competition is already doing it. Reduces store-level plastic and paper bag expense. Creates community goodwill. It s the right thing to do for the environment. 2

Campaign Kicks Off in Los Angeles (PR Newswire Oct. 2009) More Stores Sold on Reusable Bags (Sign-On San Diego.com Nov. 2009) "Remember Your Reusable Bag" campaign launched by Utah Food Industry Association and the Utah Retail Merchants Association to educate consumers and increase use of reusable bags. (Deseret News Sept. 2009) 3

Why Do You Need Reusable Bag Point-of-Sale? Because shoppers often forget to bring their bags! Exterior signs remind shoppers to get their bags out of their cars. Interior elements reinforce the awareness that reusable grocery bags are available for purchase in your stores. Interior signs also remind shoppers to bring their bags with them next time they shop. 4

Our Campaign Choose Reusable Campaign idea originated in Seattle division Spring 2009 to coincide with Earth Day. Program was developed and rolled out to Pacific Northwest retailers. Enhancements made to program for California. Two campaigns created: one English and one Spanish. Complete, turn-key solution for retail. 5

Choose Reusable Program Elements Components were created to reach shoppers outside and inside the store, including retailers weekly ads. Signs can be utilized with retailers own reusable bag sales program or vendor programs. Employee buttons allow store personnel to help carry the message. 6
