Terminology
Terminology Interval Data - General term for any data provided at a regular interval of time
Terminology Channel - Stream of data on a meter, or counter, with the same interval (1 min, 15 min, 1 day, 30 day, etc.), unit of measure (kw, kwh, Gal, MLB, Value, etc.), and reading type (i.e. Demand, Usage, Reading).
Terminology Route - A collection of meters, counters, and channels that provides access to view, edit, and create interval data values
Terminology Counter Similar to a meter with a channel of data. Differs from a meter, in that it: is not associated with an account does not have any bill data associated with it tracks a count of a measurable quantity setup is performed in EnergyCAP Enterprise
Setup of a Channel Enter the Import ID in Meter Properties
Setup of a Channel Create a channel in meter properties
Setup of a Channel Channel Properties
Setup of a Channel Select, or Create, a Route Save
Setup of a Channel What about bulk setup? CREATE Channels Setup Spreadsheet
Importing Interval Data Starting with ECO 3.4.3, you could import Interval Data in ECO Interval Data file must have an ImportID set to match the Meter s Import ID (use an UPDATE Meters Setup Spreadsheet, or update meter by meter in meter properties)
Importing Interval Data Create a profile for importing interval data in Bill Processing

Using Interval Data Sub-monthly Interval data can be summed for use by the Chargeback Engine New monthly channel is created for billing readings
Using Interval Data Bill Processing Calculate Monthly Roll-ups

Using Interval Data Bill Processing Calculate Monthly Roll-ups
Using Interval Data Recap Sub-monthly interval data can be summed for use by the Chargeback Engine New monthly channel is created for billing readings Separate processor to summarize interval readings Readings can be tied to vendor bill so that submeter bill dates match vendor bill dates for maximum accuracy for analysis Also can be summarized as part of Chargeback Processor
Analyzing Interval Data Analyzing Interval Data Channel reports provide a visual aide CH01 (Daily totals per place per meter) CH04 (Monthly totals per place per meter) CH06 (User-defined period totals per place per meter)
Analyzing Interval Data Analyzing Interval Data For bill validation: Compare channel usage to bill usage CH07 (Based on start/end date for bill on meter, provides metered use total & variance) CH09 (Shows current and previous readings only and comparison to bill on meter)
Analyzing Interval Data New and updated Reports: CH08 updated for better export to MS Excel and can be used to correct data points, or insert missing data
Analyzing Interval Data CH10 is a visual Smartmeter (Daily/Weekly) line graph displaying Interval Data over an 8 day range (useful for identifying setbacks, spikes, missing data)
Analyzing Interval Data CH11 is a visual Smartmeter (Monthly/Annual) line graph which also shows peak daily data for long period of time.
Analyzing Interval Data CH12 compares weekto-week daily maximum readings from Smartmeter data
Analyzing Interval Data CH13 is a tabular report of 1 to 10 peak channel readings for the selected time period
EnergyCAP 4 Interval Data Chart New type of Chart being used Interval Data with an Interval of 1 Day, or less, can be displayed Allows for quick review and analysis Example: Mary Ann s Mini Mall ELE02
Counters Currently, they can only be created in ECE Channels typically have a daily interval, but they can be any interval Naming the Counter with a Code beginning with TOTAL allows integration with the AN22CC report
SMART CAPture
SMART CAPture Continue development effort to enhance Interval Data capabilities Interval Data provides Building insights not available in bill data alone Planned Sources of data include: Utility Vendor data Files from metering systems Hardware gateways that interface with existing systems Installed Hardware for metering or connecting to existing meters
