Carbon dioxide is a gas that is only partially soluble in water, forming a mixture of dissolved CO 2 and carbonic acid (H 2CO 3). Its solubility is affected by the temperature of the water and the pressure of the gas. The table below gives the mass (in grams) of carbon dioxide that can dissolve in 1 litre of water at various temperatures. One of the values is missing.
