LB34-44B Two Models Both As Versatile As You Are The Challenger LB34B and LB44B large square balers deliver bales of consistent quality the right density, the right size and the right weight whether you re baling straw or hay. The LB34B model will also make light work of silage. Precision is now the watchword of modern agriculture, so the Challenger LB B Series has been engineered to the highest standards to give you exactly that. Bale density and weight are calculated to make optimum use of transport and storage. When you re making bales, timing is of the essence, which is why the plunger speed on the Challenger LB44B is a full 25 % faster than previous baler standards. No surprise, then, that a significant boost in output is achievable. The bales are bigger, too at 1.2 m x 1.28 m, while the LB34B allows flexibility in storage with bales measuring 1.2 m x.88 m. 2

For when the going gets tough LB34-44B Reliable, consistent throughput is dependent on Challenger s mightily solid build quality throughout the machine, from pick-up to ejector. Both models are constructed a simple, rigid frame of top grade steel, on which all the baler s components are mounted, ensuring ease of access and rugged durability even in the most testing harvest conditions. Compressing The Bale The high-speed plunger compresses the crop at an impressive rate. Challenger s Drive System The stuffer/knotter chain drive is simplicity itself, meaning easy maintenance. Centering Augers Feeding augers allow smooth, even crop flow and maximum performance. The fully-adjustable hitch, new on the LB44B, means these big balers can be fitted to any tractor, while the generous ground clearance allows even the bulkiest of crop swaths to be passed over with ease. A tried and tested ball hitch provides a snug and immensely secure union between tractor and baler, although other ring or ball hitch connections can be fitted, if preferred. Pick-Up Challenger s design engineers have devoted painstaking attention to detail to combine high output with a gentle and precise intake of crop into the baler. The pick-up s design incorporates a torsion bar suspension system that rises and drops as uneven ground is encountered. Four centering augers draw the crop into the packers, giving a consistently positive feed, whatever the crop, and enabling the baler to operate at maximum efficiency at all times. The Perfect Bale Takes Shape It all starts with the Challenger prepack chamber system, where the packers move the crop in to form the flake. As soon as an even density has been achieved, the stuffer which is precisely synchronised with the plunger feeds the flake into the bale chamber. And, because the stuffer will only begin its cycle when the flake is ready, perfect flakes result time after time. This simple system doesn t require any settings to be made everything happens automatically, ensuring silage bales keep their optimum nutritional content and hay and straw bales are solid and uniform. This means faster, safer transport and more efficient use of available storage. 5
LB34-44B Innovative design for the perfect harvest Challenger big square balers feature the double knotter system, pioneered at the renowned Hesston plant in the USA, and proven to be the best knotting mechanism for balers in the world even after a quarter of a century. To produce bales of the highest quality, the knotters are chain driven from the main gearbox, which ensures that the plunger, knotters and needles are in precisely the same timing cycle. It is often said that the best engineering is based on simplicity of design, and the double knotter system is a perfect example, producing neat, rock-solid knots at the highest bale density. Performance is further boosted by the innovative knotter blower, which is powered by the baler s integral hydraulic pump. This clever device blows air at a constant 140 km/h through the knotter stack, keeping the whole area completely free of debris at all times of operation. No complicated mechanisms here. Just plain, simple, well engineered design leaving you with super-solid, perfectly tied knots for compact, easily transportable bales. The knotters are lubricated with an Auto-lube system.
