Environment Residual paint should be sprayed onto newspaper, allowed to dry and disposed of via domestic waste collections. Empty aerosol cans are recyclable via steel can recycling programs. Do not pour unwanted paint down the drain. Keep unwanted paint in sealed containers for disposal via chemical waste collections. Empty paint containers should be left open in a well ventilated area to dry out. When dry, recycle steel containers via steel recycling programs. Disposal of empty paint containers via domestic recycling programs may differ between local authorities. Check with your local council first.-
5 Year Guarantee White Knight Rust Guard Epoxy Enamel is guaranteed to prohibit the development of rust for 5 years if applied to suitable and properly prepared surfaces, following White Knight instructions and the appropriate White Knight Preparation and Primer products are used. This guarantee is given by PPG Industries Australia Pty Ltd and applies to defects in the manufacture or formulation of the product. This guarantee does not cover: blistering, peeling or flaking; application in highly corrosive areas; paint failure caused by any breakdown of coatings applied previously or use of other coating not specified by White Knight; or any other factors beyond our control. Any damage to the coating must be repaired immediately to inhibit rust development. If this guarantee is not met, we will replace the paint or refund your money. We are not liable for the cost of any labour or any other direct or indirect loss or damage arising from a breach of this guarantee. Customers are responsible for all costs of claiming under this guarantee. To claim, customers must write to us or call our Customer Care number to request a claim form. The benefits provided by this guarantee are in addition to other rights and remedies under the law. Preparation Remove all rust and loose and flaking paint. Sand new metal, previously painted or glossy surfaces thoroughly. The surface must be clean, dry and free from dust, dirt, grease, oil, rust scale and other contaminants. Convert rusted steel and wrought iron surfaces with White Knight Rust Guard Rust Converter. Prime rusted steel and wrought iron with White Knight Rust Guard Metal Primer. Prime galvanised iron, ZINCALUME and non ferrous metals e.g. aluminium with White Knight Rust Guard True Bite or SLS Etch Primer. In highly corrosive conditions such as coastal areas prime steel and wrought iron with White Knight Rust Guard Metal Primer. Cover surrounding areas to protect from overspray. Remove all rust and flaking paint. Sand new metal, previously painted or glossy surfaces thoroughly. Convert rusted surfaces with Rust Guard Rust Converter. The surface must be clean, dry and free from dust, dirt, grease, oil, rust scale and other contaminants. Prime galvanised iron, ZINCALUME and non ferrous metals e.g aluminium with Rust Guard True Bite or SLS Etch Primer. In severe conditions, or for added protection to steel and wrought iron, prime with Rust Guard Metal Primer.
Application 1. Shake can vigorously for 2 minutes before use and regularly during use. 2. Adjust nozzle to desired spray pattern. Use the horizontal setting when spraying up and down and the vertical setting when spraying across. 3. Hold the can upright approximately 15-20 cm from the surface. 4. Press button firmly and spray with a smooth sweeping motion. Apply a prewetting mist coat followed by a full even coat, overlapping each spray pass. To prevent paint sagging, avoid spraying too close to the surface or spraying too heavily. 5. Repeat if necessary. Do not use when air or surface temperature is below 15 C or above 30 C 1. Stir thoroughly with a broad flat stirrer in a circular lifting motion for at least 5 minutes before use and continue to stir at regular intervals during application. 2. No thinning is required for application by brush or roller. If spraying you may thin up to 10% with White Knight Rust Guard Solvent. 3. Apply 2 coats by brush, roller or spray gun. For best results lightly sand between coats. Do not use when air or surface temperature is below 10 C or above 30 C Coverage Approximately 2m² per can. Approximately 14m² per litre, depending on the nature of the surface.
Drying Touch dry in 6-8 hours. Re-coat after 16 hours. Touch dry in 4-6 hours. Re-coat after 16 hours. Drying will be slower in cold or humid conditions, in the absence of ventilation or where heavy film builds are applied. Clean Up To prevent nozzle blocking, after use turn can upside down and press button until only gas escapes. Overspray can be removed while still wet with White Knight Rust Guard Solvent or mineral turps. Clean brushes and equipment with White Knight Rust Guard Solvent or mineral turps immediately after use.
