Physical Testing Instruments PocketGoniometer (Contact Angle), PG-1 / PG-2 / PG-3 The PocketGoniometer concept consists of a series of affordable contact angle testers. They range from fully mechanical (PG-1) to automated testing with video analysis. They are ideal for flat substrates that can be cut into sample strips for testing. Sample Preparation Tools JDC Precision Sample Cutter The JDC has become the accepted standard for most corporations worldwide for preparing samples of paper, paperboard, metal foils, nonwovens, films, tissue and a variety of other materials. The JDC cuts test strips to an exact width and parallel throughout their entire length. Model 98 Elmendorf Sample Cutter Quickly prepares uniform samples for Elmendorf tear testing. Dual blade cutting action ensures tight control over sample preparation. Model 98 cuts a sample that is 63 mm (2.48 in) wide and up to 152.4 mm (6 in) long. ALFA 240-3 Model 240-3 cuts samples with a single press of the operation lever. It is ideal for paper, paperboard, foil and rubber. The ALFA cutters utilize interchangeable steel rule dies that can be configured in a number of shapes and quantities of test samples up to the maximum cutting area of the ALFA unit. The rate of drainage is related to the work done on the fiber during beating or refining Maelstrom Laboratory Pulper (Model H-100) A complete line of stainless steel laboratory pulpers is available. Model H-100 is the standard pulper and can work in the consistency range of 0-7%. Other pulpers are available which provide up to a 15% consistency level or up to 1800 grams at 6% consistency.
