UCL Holding: basic information International transportation group Universal Cargo Logistics Holding consolidates more than 40 assets in Russia, CIS countries and Western Europe. Its companies perform transportation of cargoes by railway and river-sea transport, handling of cargoes in Russian ports, render logistic and shipbuilding services and also perform cruise activities. Annual turnover of the holding in 2012 is more than 150 billions of rubles. UCL Holding consolidates several railway operators working at the territory of Russia and in a number CIS and European countries, stevedoring companies in the North-West and South of the country, Volga, North-Western and V.F. Tanker shipping companies, a number of shipbuilding and logistic assets both in Russia and abroad. According to their activities, companies of the holding are merged in three divisions. Development program of UCL Holding: main goals Implementation of Holding s development projects will allow to secure on the national basis: RENOVATION OF THE RUSSIAN CARGO FLEET by means of construction of modern vessels for river and sea transportation lines ATTRACTIVENESS OF RUSSIAN PORTS FOR SHIPPERS due to the construction of new high-performance port terminals, expansion of cargo range and improvement of cargo handling quality in ports QUALITY IMPROVEMENT OF RAILWAY TRANSPORTATION SERVICES IN RUSSIA by optimization of rolling stock management of Holdings railway companies.
Shipbuilding program According to fleet renovation program, 60 vessels under 5 different projects (30 bulk carriers and 30 tankers) are to be constructed for VBTH, mostly on Russian shipyards. In 2010-2012 44 vessels were put into operation. Long-term projects: participation in Taman port construction In September 2011 UCL Holding has declared its intentions to be an investor in construction and operating of three terminals at a new port project Taman. Corresponding agreement has been signed between UCL Holding, Ministry of Transport and Governor of Krasnodar Territory. Location: Tamanskiy Peninsula: Between capes Tuzla and Panagiya (Krasnodar Territory). Projects of UCL Holding in Taman: 1. Coal terminal, 16 mln tons; 2. Steel terminal, 6 mln tons.; 3. Container terminal, 3 mln TEU.
Main projects of railway assets development Development of UCL Rail envisages optimization of the main business processes, enlargement and optimization of the structure of fleet of railcars and increase of efficiency of its utilization. Management) is the managing company of UCL Holding, was established to optimize the management of Russian assets, as well as conduct a coordinated investment policy within the group s transport companies. Key objectives: Improve operations management efficiency of essential Russian business units; Develop strategies for Russian companies and key divisions; Increase the efficiency of financial resources of UCL Holding s Russian companies; Coordinate the interaction between UCL Holding s transport assets; Improve investment performance efficiency.
