GAP MEDICS FUTURE MANAGERS SCHEME DESIGNED TO IDENTIFY AND DEVELOP EXCEPTIONALLY TALENTED PEOPLE WITH THE AMBITION AND DRIVE TO PURSUE CAREERS IN INTERNATIONAL OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT THE EMPLOYER Gap Medics is a highly successful young company that specialises in adventurous educational travel experiences for aspiring medics and nurses. Students aged 16 upwards join us from around the world to spend a few weeks shadowing health professionals in unfamiliar environments and cultures. We provide a comprehensive package for our students, which includes accommodation in our own purpose-built Gap Medics houses and full-time support from our dedicated staff teams in each location. We have grown rapidly since our launch and with 4000 students undertaking our placements in 2017, it s an exciting time to join the team. Our 12-week selection and training process will put you on the front line, working under our experience managers in continental Europe, Africa, Asia or the Caribbean. You ll be immersed in every aspect of our work, from building partnerships with major hospitals, liaising with the doctors and others who mentor our students, hands-on involvement in our industry-leading hospitality and catering services, and representing the company as the face of Gap Medics to the people who matter most of all our customers. THE JOB For those good enough to succeed on the Future Managers Scheme, the reward is an offer of permanent employment as one of our revered International Operations Managers the leaders who create, manage and troubleshoot our overseas programmes. With salary potential over 36,000 a year within two years and expenses paid global travel, these are incredibly sought after positions.

CASE STUDY: EMMA SMITH Emma joined the Future Managers Scheme three years ago after graduating from Northumbria University with a degree in International Business. After successfully completing the scheme in Kilimanjaro, Tanzania, Emma became an Operations Manager and since then has managed our programmes in Thailand and Croatia, and created new programmes in Poland and the Dominican Republic. She was promoted to Senior International Operations Manager in February 2016. Emma now plays a key leadership role in the company, helping to directly control and shape the company s operations...all that in just three years (and a lot of air miles!) CASE STUDY: MEGAN BLAIR Megan is the latest addition to our operations team. She joined the Future Managers Scheme earlier this summer, and proved herself by taking the lead on the pilot programme in Krakow, Poland. Megan s first assignment as an Operations Manager was to set-up our latest programme in the Caribbean and has therefore split her time between receiving briefings and training at the Gap Medics HQ in Newcastle and meeting with senior hospital and government officials in Barbados, Martinique and St. Lucia. INITIAL SELECTION We are looking for confident, outgoing people who can walk into a situation and take control. We therefore invite all interested applicants to an informal networking event with members of the Gap Medics team: This is your chance to put yourself forward and show us why we should consider you for the scheme. SELECTION: STEPS TO SUCCESS STEP ONE: SELECTION EVENT STEP TWO: FORMAL INTERVIEW Join us at one of our prestigious meet and greet events. A chance for us to get to know each other. If you re successful in Stage One, you may be invited to a formal interview with the Company Director and senior Gap Medics staff. STEP THREE: ASSESSMENT DAY Are you up for the challenge? We know that you can talk the talk, and in our live assessment day we ll see if you can work under pressure to complete a challenging set task STEP FOUR: INTERNSHIP Welcome to the final hurdle! If you make it this far, you join our 12- week all-expenses-paid voluntary internship for intensive training and final assessment in one of our overseas programmes.

SELECTION: THE INTERNSHIP Those who successfully complete our rigorous selection process will undertake intensive training and an allexpenses-paid, 12-week voluntary internship in one of our overseas programmes. During the selection process, you will have already shown us your drive, ambition and passion to succeed within this demanding career. The Internship is the time to demonstrate that you are the best person for the role with Gap Medics. If you can prove yourself as an assistant to one of our Programme Managers, you earn the right to work alongside them, launching your career in international operations. Your role will be to assist in a very hands-on way with all aspects of running the programme to ensure that every Gap Medics student gets the best possible experience. This will include: Liaising with our partner hospitals to ensure placements are consistently in line with our Operations Manual. Helping our local team with all aspects of running the Gap Medics house, organising social, community and sports activities for students; Ensuring every student gets a great welcome on arrival, introduction to the programme and local orientation; Being a friendly supportive face for students throughout their time on the programme; You will be mentored and assessed throughout the 12-week period by one of our overseas Programme Managers. All necessary travel, accommodation and day-to-day living expenses will be paid by the company, and you will receive a nominal allowance for personal expenses.

We only select the best candidates for the job, so your performance is measured and evaluated throughout the selection process and you ll receive constructive feedback at every stage.
