Submit properly identified product data, complete with installation details and instructions, before starting work. B. Shop Drawings: 1. Provide panel partition assembly as a complete unit by one manufacturer including necessary hardware, fittings, accessories, and anchorages. NOTE TO SPECIFIER: See M-DCPS Design Criteria Division 1 for acoustical separation requirements. Provide partition STC ratings of not less than the proposed space requirement. B. Sound Transmission Classification (STC): Provide folding partition units capable of achieving an STC rating of when tested according to ASTM E90. C. Flame Spread Rating: Use only facing materials not exceeding a 25-flame spread rating when tested to ASTM E84. 1.05 WARRANTY A. Guarantee Period: 3 years against defects in material or installation. NOTE TO SPECIFIER: Verify type of partition to be used with M-DCPS Design Criteria according to project conditions. A. Provide standard (single)(paired)(continuously hinged) panels with (high pressure plastic laminate face sheets) (vinyl film)(carpet) on steel framework with no splices or joints and edges straight and sealed. 1. Provide concealed reinforcement for installation of hardware, fittings, brackets, and required accessories. 2. Face Panel Color: Selected by A/E from manufacturers stock color selection. B. Panel Size: Nominal 48 inches wide with interlocking vinyl sound seals. NOTE TO SPECIFIER: Delete the following when using manually operated partitions, unless size and configuration exceed practical manual operation. C. Provide electrically operated partitions according to manufacturers recommendations. Electrical operation shall include: 1. Automatic control through a safety key switch with an electric motor and power transmission unit. 2. A power unit capable of being disengaged for manual operation upon power failure. D. Floor and Head Seals: Fixed vinyl top sweeps and clearance type, automatic operable bottom seals. E. Operable partitions suspended from track at head without floor track or guides. 1. 1. Stabilized cores faced with (0.05" high pressure plastic laminate face sheets)(vinyl film weighing not less than 15 ounces per lineal yard). Particle board construction is not allowed. 2. Color and Pattern of (Plastic Laminate)( Vinyl Facing): As selected by A/E from manufacturers standard selection. PART 3 EXECUTION 3.01 INSPECTION A. Do not proceed with the work of this section until conditions detrimental to the proper and timely completion of the work have been corrected in an acceptable manner. 3.02 INSTALLATION A. Verify field measurements before fabrication. B. Pre-assemble units in shop to greatest extent possible to minimize field cutting, jointing and assembly of units. C. Store and handle doors during pre-installation stage to not void manufacturer's guarantee. D. Install operable partitions by an authorized representative of manufacturer. E. Remove and reset doors defective after installation to a fully operating condition. F. Cleaning, Adjusting, and Lubricating: 1. Adjust and lubricate hardware for proper operation after installation. 2. Perform final adjustments to leveling devices, hardware, and other operating parts of partition assemblies. 3. Clean exposed surfaces of partitions, hardware, fittings and accessories, using materials and methods recommended by the partition manufacturer. 3.03 TESTING A.
