Introduction to Pricing Manager The Xerox Configurator Pricing Manager is a tool that allows you to create, edit and manage custom price lists for use in the Xerox Configurator. These price lists can be distributed to other members of your organization via the use of an identification code that is entered into the Configurator interface. Getting started The Pricing Manager is launched directly from the Configurator tool by clicking on the pricing manager button in the upper-right hand menu of the interface. Once clicked, a new browser window or tab will be launched. Once loaded, you will be presented with the Pricing Manager screen seen below: Xerox Configurator Pricing Manual 2
Creation Creating a Price List To start the creation process click on the new button. This will bring up a window that will allow you to create a name for your new price list. Enter a name and then click on the Create Price List button. Xerox Configurator Pricing Manual 3
After you have clicked the button you will see that your new price list is now showing on the main page. Xerox Configurator Pricing Manual 4
XLS Export Exporting the XLS In order to edit a price list, you must first export it to your hard drive as an Excel (.xls) file. To start the exporting process click on the Xls Export link next to the price list you want to export. After you click this link save it to an easy to find area on your hard drive so you can use it later and edit the file. Xerox Configurator Pricing Manual 5
Editing the XLS Now you have downloaded the XLS for your price list you can now start editing the prices. Open the XLS file you have just downloaded. This XLS has a list of all of the products currently used within the configurator. The list starts out populated with your default prices from the Xerox sales channel. Once uploaded, any changes that you make to these prices will replace the default prices for anyone currently using the price lists Configurator Code in the configurator. Edit the XLS with your prices and save as this will be needed for later use. Xerox Configurator Pricing Manual 6
Duplicating a price list If you have a price list that you want to keep a reference of or even just use as a base for other pricelists you can create duplications with the Copy function. To duplicate your price list just simply click on the Copy link and you will see that the price list has been duplicated. This duplicated price list can now be edited as normal. Importing your price list In order to apply the changes that you have made to the XLS, you must import it back to the pricing manager. To start the importing process click on Edit link next to the price list you want to import back to. Before uploading you can select which specific devices you would like to update using your updated XLS. You may wish to just import the whole list but if you know that you have only edited specific devices it can be safer and quicker to only upload the prices specific to them. Updating the price list Once you have made your selections you will need to select the XLS file that you wish to upload from your hard drive. Click on the browse button. This will open up a standard file browsing window. Navigate to your updated price list XLS file and click Open. Once you have selected your file, click the next button begin the price list upload. Deleting a price list To delete a price list simply click on the Delete link next to the price list you want to delete and it will be removed. Xerox Configurator Pricing Manual 11
Using a price list in Configurator In order to use one of your custom price lists in Configurator, you will need to get the Configurator Code that can be seen on the Pricing Manager main page. This code needs to be put into the Pricing List field on the Configurator Home screen. You can do this by copying and pasting the code or by typing it in manually. Configurator will then use this code to access the price list whenever the pricing screen is displayed. If you wish to use the default prices again, simply delete the code from this text box. FAQs What versions of Excel are the price lists compatible with? The downloaded Excel files are compatible with Excel 2003/2007. Can anyone else edit my files? The Pricing Manager files are unique to your login and cannot be downloaded or edited by anyone else. Anyone with one of your price list Congifurator Codes can only view the list through the Configurator. Who can use my price lists? A price list Configurator Code can be used by anyone with access to the Xerox Configurator. Can I add new price columns?
