THE NORTHERN COLLEGE JOB DESCRIPTION Summary of Responsibilities MENTAL HEALTH PROJECT CO-ORDINATOR On behalf of the Mental Health Project Board, take responsibility for the day to day management of the Barnsley Community Learning Mental Health Pilot. Under the supervision of the Northern College Head of Community and Partnership Learning, you will be required to co-ordinate and deliver upon specific outcomes of the pilot project. The role will focus upon working with partner organisations to arrange staff development opportunities, recruit 240 learners and train 30 volunteers, who will work across the pilot project in a range of contexts. Main Duties & Responsibilities 1. To collaborate with partner organisations in the recruitment of learners within the Barnsley Community. 2. Work closely with Adult Learning and Mental Health staff to ensure the engagement of 240 learners/service users as participants in the project. 3. To collate, interpret and report on project data and information, ensuring that all required returns are made to the Skills Funding Agency. 4. To represent the Project and attend and report to project partner meetings. 5. Ensure safeguarding of learners and volunteers, some of whom will be emerging from a period of significant vulnerability. 6. Provide a single point of contact for referrals and subsequent pre-course information & advice to learners. 7. Work with partner organisations and agencies to secure the successful completion of the Project and acquire Year 2 funding, should this be made available by the Skills Funding Agency. 8. Prepare progress reports as required both internally and externally, including to the Project partner meetings. 9. To oversee all aspects of project administration and ensure timely completion of documentation. 10. Contribute to the end of project evaluation, focussing upon hard and soft outcomes for learners, volunteers and staff as described in the Pilot specification. Identify and collect relevant data and metrics to allow external evaluators to measure and report the outcomes of the pilot project. 11. To ensure the quality assurance procedures and standards of the College and its partners are adhered to, within courses delivered. 12. To report regularly to the Head of Community and Partnership Learning.
